Began my professional career as a freelance graphic designer, and gradually expanded my expertise to include web design and development in 2005. In 2007, I became proficient in using WordPress and established a successful business selling premium WordPress themes to over 30,000 customers from 2008 to 2020.

Pivoted & built a very successful SaaS that specializes in the WordPress real estate niche, and now provides industry-leading IDX websites, CRM, and technology tools to agents and brokers to increase lead conversion.

I played a crucial role in the design and development of the newspaper's website. I was responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive designs that met the needs of the newspaper's audience. My responsibilities included:

- Front-end Development: I developed and maintained the website's front end using HTML, CSS, Django, and JavaScript, in combination with the Ellington CMS.
- Interaction design: I was responsible for designing interactive elements of the website that improved user engagement.
- User Experience: I designed the website with the user in mind and ensured a seamless user experience.
- User Interface Design: I designed the website's user interface to be intuitive and easy to navigate.

During my tenure at San Diego Union-Tribune, I was able to work closely with the development team to implement new features and maintain website back-end functionality, and collaborated with project managers to meet project deadlines, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.

Played a key role in the design and development of web and print materials for the company. I was responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive designs that met the needs of the company's clients. My responsibilities included:

- Web Design & Development: I was responsible for designing and developing the company's website, ensuring it was visually appealing and easy to navigate.
- Large Format Print Designs: I created and designed large format print materials such as banners, trade show displays, and POP displays.
- Prepress: I was responsible for preparing print designs for production, including pre-flighting, proofreading, and ensuring that the files were properly formatted for the printer.

In 2001 I started with graphic & print design for small businesses, eventually working for a few startups and initially self-taught in web design and development. In 2005 I made the decision to go to college where I earned an A.A.S. in Graphic Design and a B.A.S. in Multimedia Design with an emphasis on Web Design & Development. From there I worked for a few more startups everything from eCommerce for Automotive Accessories to UI/UX Design for Social Networks, in 2008 I landed a job as a Senior Web Designer/Developer at the San Diego Union-Tribune where I stayed until January of 2012.

Background in WordPress

I started tinkering and reverse-engineering the original Kubrick theme for WordPress way back in 2005 and built a few small sites based on that old classic. That lead me to design & develop my first premium WordPress theme for the real estate market which I uploaded to Themeforest in Dec 2008.

Now I'm not a one-trick pony I've also designed and developed many, many custom sites for clients from all over the world in all kinds of industries. Those jobs range from small mom-and-pop shops all the way up to multi-million dollar corporations.
