As the Head of Sales Development Operations, I built out & lead our SDR team (100% female), aka ‘Jenny from the Block’. I started in 2014. I didn’t wake up wanting to work in RevOps. I just got obsessed with:

Why pipeline never matched the truth
Why forecasts were always off
& why marketing and sales were constantly frustrated with each other. (the arguments were epic)

RevOps isn’t where you start. It’s where you end up when you’ve seen enough BULLSH*T and decide to fix it.

The fastest path in is getting close to revenue. 

Carry a quota. 
Generate pipeline. 
Support customers. 

Then move into ops. Learn one CRM deeply. Understand how data flows. Build reports leadership actually trusts. Most importantly, learn how revenue really works.

RevOps isn’t dashboards and automation.

It’s pattern recognition. It’s business judgment. It’s cleaning up messy handoffs. It’s asking why growth is stalling and actually finding the answer.

The best RevOps leaders I know didn’t chase the title.

They fixed what was broken.
