I noticed a consistent pattern while reviewing product pricing pages:

Most brands think customers are evaluating value.

They are not!

They are trying to avoid making a bad decision.

And when you give them only two options, you increase that pressure.

Example:

Small coffee — $2.50
Large coffee — $4.75

Now the customer is stuck.

→ “Do I really need the large?”
→ “Is the small too little?”

The gap feels uncomfortable.

So they default to the safer, cheaper choice.

Not because it’s better.

Because it feels less risky.

Now watch what happens when you introduce a third option:

Small — $2.50
Medium — $3.75
Large — $4.75

The decision changes instantly.

No one debates small versus large anymore.

They are comparing medium vs large.

→ “For just a bit more, I get the large.”

And suddenly, the higher-priced option feels reasonable.

That middle option wasn’t added to sell.

It was added to the guide.

This is how smart pricing works:

→ It shifts the comparison
→ It anchors perception
→ It reduces decision friction
→ It nudges customers toward the outcome you want

Pricing is rarely about the number.

It’s about the context around the number.

Most brands optimize for margins.

Better brands optimize for decisions.

If you are building offers, look at how your choices are structured.

There is a reason every project in history took longer and cost more than planned:

Almost every team has lived through this moment.

The kickoff meeting feels optimistic.

→ “Should take about 6 weeks.”
→ “Budget should stay around $20K.”
→ “A small team can handle it.”
→ “Nothing too complicated.”

Then reality begins.

Why do you feel mentally exhausted… even when you haven’t finished anything important?

A few days ago, I was speaking with someone who felt busy all day…

But couldn’t point to a single thing that was actually done.

Their day looked like this:

Start something → get interrupted → switch tasks → come back later → repeat.

By the end of the day, everything was in progress.

And Nothing was complete.

That’s where the real problem begins.

Your brain doesn’t forget unfinished work.

It keeps it open.

Like dozens of tabs running in the background:

→ “Follow up with supplier”
→ “Fix the landing page”
→ “Reply to that email”
→ “Review the numbers”

Each one takes a little space.

Individually, it’s manageable.

Together, it becomes noise.

Over time, this doesn’t just slow you down.

It reduces clarity and drains mental energy.

The shift is simple, but uncomfortable:

Stop starting. Start finishing.

1) Work on one task until a clear endpoint

2) Define what “done” looks like before you begin

3) Reduce the number of things you start in a day

I’ve been building Recharge for 10+ years. 

People always ask "Oisin, what would've happened if you burned out?" 

Guess we'll never know...

Jokes aside, I burnt out to the point of almost dying early on. 

I had panic attacks 3x a day. 
Constant heart palpitations. 
Uncontrollable anxiety 24/7. 

I told my therapist I believed my body was giving up and he agreed lol. 

That’s real burnout. 

Not BS like “I need a vacation” or “I’m working too hard” 

But the fate of the company was on my shoulders so I had two options... 

1) Lean in and make it work. 
2) Walk away and let it die. 

$100M+ ARR later and I can say I’m glad I pushed through. 

But the process was counterintuitive.

I had to mentally stop caring if Recharge failed in order to make it succeed. 

Couldn’t keep tying it back to my own self worth. 

So I invested more time into my family and the life we'd already built. 

When I realized we'd already "made it."

I didn't have to operate from a place of scarcity or lack. 

Which gave me 100x more clarity in what I was actually building towards. 

And this is a major problem I see across the board with founders...

Some of you are zombies. 

You have no clue why you’re still grinding but you keep doing it anyway. 

Chewing the glass longer than anyone else is a solid trait. 

But the real superpower is knowing WHICH glass to chew. 

Develop that and you’ll win.
