We all have competitors,  every single one of us...  

 

Your potential clients always have choices: A, B, C, or D at the very least.

So when I work with clients, the first thing we get clear on is why someone would pay attention to them in the first place.

What sparks interest? What makes someone stop scrolling, lean in, and think, “Tell me more”?

Once we identify that, the next step is turning attention into revenue. That’s where most people get stuck — not because they lack skill, but because they lack a structure that moves someone from curious… to convinced… to client.

So I help them build that framework.

The messaging, the positioning, the offer structure, the simple steps that guide a prospect from first contact to paid engagement.

When this is in place, competition matters a lot less. Now you’re the option that makes the most sense.

They buy from the person who clearly knows this problem better than anyone else.

It may feel counterintuitive, but in a noisy market, the specialist always wins.

 

Who do you help the most? What problem do you solve best? And how will you position yourself as the specialist they trust?

Everyone around you says, “This is fantastic, it will work!”.....



A great idea, a clever angle, a solid product or service.


Your partner thinks it’s great. Your friends think it’s great. You think it’s great.

But these are all assumptions.

We all make them.

The only real judge is the market.

 The market is the final arbiter.

And this is why I push my clients to test, measure, and gather real feedback. Not the polite feedback you get from people who care about you — the honest, sometimes brutal truth that only paying customers will give you.

That truth gives you the clarity to refine, iterate, and improve. It shows you what actually creates value, not what you hoped would create value. It helps you build something customers genuinely want and need.

So yes, we can all make assumptions — you, me, everyone.


But the market decides. 

And that’s exactly why understanding your customer inside out is everything.

No two business journeys look the same.

But one thing is consistent: you need a basic structure. 

A clear outline of what needs to be done and how it gets done.

Once the structure is in place,  you test what works for you, what you’re good at, what builds confidence. AND what actually drives results.

There is no single “right” way to build a business. The real skill is knowing which core boxes must be ticked… and then using your creativity as an entrepreneur to make sure those things actually happen.

Structure first. Creativity second. Results follow.

If you had a problem — with your back, your fridge, or even your laptop — who would you trust to fix it?

 A generalist, or a specialist?

If your fridge breaks down, would you call a general electronics expert or someone who specialises in fridges? Who inspires more confidence? Who do you trust more?

It’s exactly the same for your business. 

You might be able to do many things, but clients place their trust in specialists; people  solve a specific problem exceptionally well.


Explore three things to define your specialist area: experience, track record, and what you  enjoy doing. Then position. Always from the perspective of what your customers truly want and need.

 Clients stop guessing, prospects feel confident and business grows in a way that’s predictable, scalable and rewarding.

One of the things I love most about my work is seeing the people I support start winning....



What always fascinates me is how it happens.

Sowly at first, quietly building behind the scenes… then suddenly everything moves at once.

New clients. New leads. New offers. New referrals. 

It’s like a silent momentum that builds and builds until—boom—it all comes flooding in.

 And yes, it can feel overwhelming. New problems, new challenges, new decisions.
But these are the best problems to have.
