Here's what I know;

A great story pulls the prospect to the product.

I knew as a kid I wanted to work in radio. So I spent my entire high school career trying to get into Humber College in Toronto to study broadcasting.  I worked in radio and TV for five years and then one day at a party someone asked, 

"Can you do that radio thing on a stage"?

The next thing I knew I stepped onto a cruise ship in Miami (Yes, I have crazy cruise ship stories. Mind blowing stories) and spent over 10,000 hours presenting products from a stage.  

That's how I became a storyteller.

The thing is people think storytelling is something that's out of their reach.

It's not.

I get why you feel you're not a good storyteller. I hear that everyday.

I've been doing this so long I can make you a great storyteller in 30 minutes.

I have a confession to make:

My pipeline hygiene is horrible.

Ever since my earliest days in sales I’ve never been one to take detailed notes and update the CRM. My opportunities lived in my head. My default state runs on vibes and caffeine. 

Unfortunately that means sometimes I drop the ball on follow-ups. 

Or when my cofounder needs context on an account he doesn’t have it.

Not fun.

We recently got Lightfield and it’s been an absolute game changer.

Everything is just done automatically. But it’s not only importing my calls and parsing my emails. The AI factors in correspondence from multiple channels and serves as a single source of truth/spiritual guide for all our sales efforts.

I’m asking the chat interface what to follow up on. Yesterday I asked the chat interface what accounts I need to flip into opportunities. It listed everything I missed and then with another prompt it worked.

In the past we tried to setup a HubSpot instance. And HubSpot is a fine tool don’t get me wrong. Many people get value out of it. But I’d bet many others were like me and not actually using it. And a CRM that doesn’t get used is ultimately not useful. 

Lightfield is fire because I don’t have to “use” it in the sense of actively updating and maintaining it. Everything just gets done automatically and when I need to reference context or past activity it’s all there like magic.

And that’s pretty sweet.
