I’m Nick—an educator, technologist, and social entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in global development, tech for good, and social innovation.

As founder and CEO of TechChange (techchange.org), I lead a mission-driven team that designs hybrid courses, training programs, and convenings for organizations tackling global challenges—from digital health to climate resilience to financial inclusion.

Nick’s Take: Very excited about this one. With so much turmoil in the sector this year with the global aid freeze, we’ve been in close touch with our partners at the Endless Foundation and felt strongly that this was the right moment to launch something substantial.  The goal is to bring fresh, creative, and practical ideas to organizations trying to pivot, while also honoring how hard this work actually is.

Community matters here. New skills matter. New networks and access to more diverse funding options matter. And this accelerator is meant to bring all of that together.

You’ll notice the structure: an open six-week portion where as many orgs as possible can join, learn, and experiment. And then a deeper, more applied phase you can apply for orgs who want want hands-on coaching, deeper guidance, more skills training, and exposure to new funders and clients. We want this to be both accessible and genuinely useful.

Opportunity Alert: Relationship Building Session!!!

Trying something fun next month with my friend Caroline Ouwerkerk... a little spin on her signature Happy Hour(kerk) series, but this time we’re bringing it inside Kolab.

If you’ve never been to one of Caroline’s facilitated networking sessions, they’re honestly super fun.  No panel fatigue, no “go around and introduce yourself” chaos. Just intentional connection with people doing meaningful work.

And because we’re hosting it on Kolab, we get to play around with some of the stuff we built this year — games, movement on the canvas, spatial audio, small-group flows that feel way closer to IRL than anything you’ve used online.

Continuing the work of my former position as Administrative Assistant in addition to:

• Supporting Our Executive Director, Office Manager and 12 member team in the New York Region through the completion of administrative, compliance, data and project management and design & marketing projects.

• By compliance of NYS and CDC regulations, I coordinate and manage the logistics for virtual events such as benefits, forums, professional development workshops, and seminars for administrators and teachers to center on increasing cultural responsiveness and social & emotional capacity within their classrooms.

Administrative Coordinator

• Supported the Executive Director, Office Manager and 14 member team in completing administrative, compliance, data and project management in our regional office.

• Coordinated and managed logistics for over 50 events such as benefits, forums, professional development workshops, and seminars for donors and teachers who center on increasing cultural responsiveness and social & emotional capacity within their classrooms. 

• Oversaw and drafted preliminary office budgets through monitoring payments for invoices, reimbursements and account reconciliations.

• Maintained client records in Salesforce and conducted weekly database maintenance.

• Created region wide marketing resources used for promotion during forums, workshops and seminars.

Women's Enterprise Center

As the first student intern of REDC Initiative: Center for Women's Enterprise, I focused on administrative and communications. Our focus was to provide women entrepreneurs with opportunities and resources to build their small businesses.

•	Developed, managed and oversaw the administrative and marketing aspects.
•	Created database of clientele files within the office and its server.
•	Created social media profiles, marketing and administrative materials for initiatives workshops. 
•	Trained incoming interns to continue the administrative, communication and program up keep for the office.

Communications Intern

Richmond Peace Education Center

As a student intern, I supported the Richmond Peace Education Center in its mission, goals and outreach initiatives of peaceful conflict resolution, social justice and nonviolent social change.

•  Participated in the management of social media platforms and mailing systems, assisted in analysis, data entry, editing and research for the Center’s Conflict Resolution training courses (Richmond Youth Peace Project) for grant funding proposals. 
•  Assisted with the event planning for the Center’s Annual Charity Auction and Eyes Wide Open Exhibit – not limited to: donation categorizing, credentialing, inventory and marketing.

Communications and Programming Intern

• Provided superior and attentive customer service & resolved issues promptly if occurred.
• Completed open and closing duties – prepared FOH, BOH & Bar.
• Tasks not limited to: answering phones, providing customer service, cashiering and securely
 closing of the till.
• Oversaw the inventory & purchase of all bar supplies, beer, wine and liquor.

Damaris has a passion for creating a culture of learning and development. Through implementing supportive, interactive and inclusive initiatives and experiences in diverse environments - she believes that trust, collaboration and communication can develop and lead to positive organizational culture and success.

She currently is the Specialist for the Office of Equity and Inclusion at Facing History and Ourselves a cross-functional role which provides critical operational, financial, and administrative support for the Chief Officer of Regional Operations and Organizational Equity and OEI Team. 

Additionally on her space time she freelances in branding, communications and social media campaigning for small businesses and Chapters of Greek organizations.
