I’m a married woman in my early 40s. So I get asked:

When someone asks you a personal question,

“Is there a way…” 

Them: “This is too hard.” 
You: “Is there a way we can make this easier?” 

Them: “This is too expensive.”

I grew up in a developing country with a single mother. 

She taught me: “You’re no less than a man”. 

This was in a place where: 

- Girls often got married off in their teens. 
- Women had to dress, think, act conservatively. 
- To be “respected” you had to be a wife or a mother. 

But my mom made it “safe” and normal for me to: 

- Get a job instead of getting married. 
- Have strong opinions and talk publicly about them. 
- Never apologize for who I was or who I wanted to be. 

Raising me against the “norms”, mom faced criticism. 

“You’ve given Nausheen too much freedom” 

But as a result, I: 

- Explored the world and traveled to 20+ countries. 
- Bootstrapped a startup to $1M in revenue. 
- Spoke on global stages like TEDx. 

Now I coach CEOs with 10x more privilege than me. 

You are never limited by your gender, race or age. 

You are only limited by your mind. 

Once you realize this, you become unstoppable.

How to Look Like an Expert

I’ve coached 500+ CEOs to speak confidently. 

This is the #1 mistake I see them make: 

They get “confidence” wrong. 

Most people think confidence is “acting” a certain way. 

But to have unshakeable confidence, you have to dive deeper. 

Here are 3 layers of confidence to master: 

1. How to look confident: 

→ Get rid of the poker face - use expressions. 
→ Use open gestures and maintain great posture. 
→ Take up space physically and in the camera frame. 

2. How to sound confident: 

→ Enunciate clearly and emphasize keywords. 
→ Use stories to engage your audience emotionally. 
→ Vary your pitch, pacing, pauses to retain attention. 

3. How to feel confident: 

→ Warm up beforehand to get “in the zone”. 
→ Practice and create a positive feedback loop. 
→ Reframe nerves as excitement to share and help. 

Confidence isn’t putting on a “show”. 

Confidence is a state of being. 

Once you look, sound and feel confident on the inside, 
You become unforgettable anywhere you go.

They don’t “own” the room. This is how to fix it: 

When you walk into a: 

- Raise negotiation 
- Pitch meeting with an investor
