I am really good at building brands off the back of digital and social media. I know how to build communities first and launch products after. I won a few film awards back in the day and have taken that love for telling stories and focused it into being a brand venture builder. I don't like building where it's crowded. I love building where nobody else is.

I recently built a brand with two friends into 33 countries globally. Prior to that I built some great eCommerce companies in South Africa. 

I am ridiculously passionate about helping startups find their voice. I am fortunate enough to spend some of my time coaching startups on how to tell their story better and how to use free tools to build their businesses.

Vision2026. We are working on what The Lekker Network looks like in 2026. Taking everything we have learned over the first few months and optimise the entire experience. 

A small taste of what we are looking at implementing:

🚀 A powerful new onboarding process that will allow us to get key pieces of information from new members like "What can you offer and how can you help others" and "What are your goals for the next few months". When we understand what a persons goals are we are able to better spark opportunities between people we know could help achieve those goals through some incredible tech we are building. 

🚀 The Golden Connector Programme. This programme brings in some of the most influential South Africans around the world to help create high-impact opportunities for others. Each Connector commits to moving three mountains a year for those that need help with really big asks. It’s a simple and powerful way for South Africa’s most accomplished people to help others soar. Cannot wait to launch this early next year!!

🚀 A trip to Silicon Valley where we will be getting access to companies that are building the future.

🚀 A trip to China to see what the future already looks like and explore opportunities. 

🚀 A trip to Dubai to meet and connect with influential Saffas in a broad range of categories. 

🚀 Launching an Export Studio together with some of the smartest people in this space. 

🚀 Impact Pods (can't give too much away but this is going to be powerful)

🚀 A big focus on building out more chapters around the world and connecting the South African Diaspora. Our 10th province.

The ultimate goal of becoming the most powerful incubator of South African potential around the world and giving people ACCESS that would normally take them years to get! What better way to access international markets than through South Africans that are already there! 

The best part? The by-product is more opportunities and jobs flowing back home!

And then hearing your story about Madiba in that very first meeting with all who were involved with Laureus and what he said about the power of sport!!

‘Sport has the power to change the world. It can unite nations in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. It is far more powerful than governments will ever be in bringing about change. Sport, has the power to change the world’.

- In 2013, working in a dual role as Editorial Layout Manager and Digital Strategist I joined the Caxton Innovation and Digital Marketing team where I was tasked with conceptualising and implementing my ideas for brand building campaigns. 

- During this time I studied Digital Marketing and Project Management online through the University of Stellenbosch.

- As a graphic designer with over a decade of experience, I enjoy combining my writing skills with my artistic ability; a combination which served me well as Layout Manager for Caxton Media where my team was responsible for the design and layout of 13 community publications distributed weekly to over 300 000 people.

- As a marketing strategist, I and the rest of the digital team enjoyed terrific success with our newly launched community news websites, reaching over one million page views per month within the first two years. 

- During this time I continued to manage the editorial layout department, re-designing and re-branding our print and digital publications in order to create interaction between the two mediums.

- Another responsibility was the creation of social media content and style. Here I was tasked with training junior journalists in effective use of social media as a marketing tool, as well and capturing analytical data for future improvements and potential promotional campaigns.

- Promotional campaigns included collaboration with large clients (advertisers) such as Pick n Pay, Alcatel and Red Bull South Africa.

- As a senior ports journalist for the Benoni City Times and the Brakpan Herald newspaper print and digital publications. I was responsible for reporting on all major sports events as well as interviewing and photographing sporting personalities within the community.
