🚨 You may have seen the announcement about LinkedIn Local events being unable to continue beyond December 2026.

I won’t pretend that didn’t sting.

LinkedIn Local has been more than a name to me. It’s been rooms filled with proper conversation. Ayrshire. Glasgow. Edinburgh. Faces that became friendships. Introductions that became partnerships.

So yes, I’m gutted.

But I’m also quietly confident.

Because what we built was never just a logo on a banner. It was trust. Consistency. Conversation-first rooms that felt safe and genuinely useful.
And that doesn’t disappear because a name evolves.

Over the past year, I’ve already begun transitioning our events into the wider Konpasu🧭 Community umbrella. Not because I saw this coming, but because I believe communities need to live beyond platforms.

If anything, this feels like an opportunity.

An opportunity for hosts across the UK and beyond to come together.
 To share what’s worked.
 To support one another.
 To continue building – even if the sign above the door changes.

Most networking events don’t fail because of turnout.
They fail because nothing happens afterwards.

Rooms are full. Cards are exchanged. LinkedIn requests fly around.

And then? Silence.

No follow-up. No clarity. No momentum.

We’ve normalised “turn up and hope” as a strategy. But hope isn’t a commercial plan.

What most business owners actually want from networking isn’t more contacts.

They want:
💫 Conversations that go somewhere
💫 Introductions that make sense
💫 Momentum that feels intentional
💫 Visibility without performance pressure

And that doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when a room is designed properly.

When the flow is intentional. When the table topics have purpose. When people feel safe enough to speak honestly. When there’s structure without stiffness.

That’s the difference between an event and an ecosystem.  

In a digital-first world, where automation is everywhere, the rooms that grow businesses will be the ones that are easiest to talk in.

Not the loudest. Not the biggest.  Not the most salesy. The easiest.
Because ease builds trust. And trust builds revenue.

They’re the ones where people are allowed to grow.

Where contribution isn’t forced. Where heckling is welcomed. Where speaking up becomes easier over time. And when you see someone who once hesitated now leading conversations?

That’s when you know the room is working. Not because it’s loud. Not because it’s big. Because it’s safe enough to stretch in.

That’s the bit people don’t talk about when they discuss ROI.
But it matters.
More than we think.
