Kind of insane to see Alex Finn's channel is almost entirely powered by Tella videos.

Things no one is telling you about growing on socials in 2026: 

1. Timing > tenure. Algorithms are rewarding being fast (being hyper-relevant with what's hot now). Especially on search-based (YT/TT), be fast to make a good video/post on a trending conversation and you'll be rewarded. 

Examples: Alex Finn's viral ClawdBot video (4.4 million view on X). 

It's also how Carmen Vicente gained 7k followers in a few days with her 2nd-ever TikTok addressing digital fatigue. 

2. Controversy is a feature, not a bug. Most viral posts contain an element of going against the grain. No need for rage-bait, but: 

➡️ predictions about future
➡️ saying what no one is saying (but would agree with) 
➡️ show a better alternative (workflow, tool, mental model)

Example: Miranda Shanahan on TikTok does great marketing predictions + "no one is saying this about XYZ". 

3. Consuming too much online content won't help you. 

Good news if you're experiencing information overload. According to Carmen, going on a 30min walk/day (no music) works wonders to come up with great ideas + consolidate ideas. 

She coined this practice 'raw dog walks' (I think they're working for her).

How I never run out of video hook ideas: 

1. Save good hooks on TikTok, YouTube, X etc 
2. Use Claude to download vids
3. Analyse transcript + frames 
4. Create hook database
