I always find value in what he shares 
I find that he helps the ecosystem grow together

When Nathan asked me that question on our recent webinar on whether you should go the VC route or bootstrap, it highlighted a very important theme about the ability to take risks in this start up journey.

Yes, financial stability changes how you think about risks, but not in the way people often assume.

It doesn’t mean you suddenly become fearless. It means you can afford to be deliberate.

At 25, your risk appetite might be healthy - coming from youth, energy, and fewer obligations. At 40, it might come from experience, financial security, and knowing which bets are worth making.

But at the end of the day, the risk doesn’t disappear. It just looks different.

You still worry, about people, outcomes, trade-offs. You still wake up thinking about all the things that might break. You still have to earn the right to build something meaningful.

That part doesn’t change. And I don't think it ever will.

I landed one of the top podcasts, and it happened because I helped luck.
Last month I attended SaaSiest for the first time.
Earlier that day, I spotted Nathan Latka at the conference.

He was giving a talk at the conference and was naturally surrounded by people the entire time.

I didn’t target him.
I didn’t chase him.
I just stayed present.

Later that evening, I ended up sitting with the event organizers… and he happened to be right there with us.

The connection happened naturally. We had a quick, easy chat.
I invited him to visit Israel.
Told him about our crazy-strong startup scene. Even pointed him to a relevant connection. I created value for him before asking for anything.

Toward the end of the event there was a poker tournament.
In that relaxed environment, I finally said:
“I’d love to join your podcast.”
He said: “Sure, let’s connect.”

My friend and mentor Gil Ben-Artzy of UpWest has a line I always repeat:
 “You need to stay in the way of luck.”

There’s a reason Silicon Valley founders seem so much “luckier.”
They’re constantly in the right rooms, bumping into the right people, at the right time.

You can recreate that wherever you live, you just need to stay in the way of luck.

I was recruited to the executive leadership team after the 2012 acquisition by Brazilian company Cielo, the world’s 4th largest payments company that processes $30B and $80T globally in online, mobile and in-person payments. 

I headed sales with a holistic approach to revenue management and —with a team of 5 SVPs and more than 140 people in sales, marketing, business development, customer care and relationship management — I directed a complete transformation of the company’s sales culture. 

We revamped all marketing and branding, websites, customer support and B2B partnerships, growing processing volume 15% annually in 2014 and 2015, averaging 29% new net revenue growth, improving client retention 29% and grew EBITDA by 12% in 2014 and 14% in 2015

When Bain Capital and Advent International invested in WorldPay, the 3rd-largest electronic payments processing company in the world, I was brought on to the new executive management team to set strategic direction for US operations and to execute the strategy for the sales organizations. 

I built and led an elite team of 100 to develop global strategic partnerships and established a high-performance Strategic Partner Business Development channel with 23 reps serving 50K merchants and partners. I also created a new partnership team and channel management structures and led the sale organization through tumultuous times. We produced $27M in annual EBIDTA contributions. 

I also served as point person with investment bankers and equity owners on all things related to revenue during M&A transactions and participated in monthly management review meetings with Bain Capital and WorldPay UK executives.

Senior Vice President - Head of Strategic Partnerships, ATM & Independent Sales Organizations

On the initial acquisition by Bain Capital and Advent International, I was recruited internally to drive the 500+ person small business sales organization. I oversaw the complete transformation of the WorldPay direct sales organization, including recruiting to replace 4 of 6 VPs and more than 15 sales managers in 6 months. 

I also completely overhauled the sales compensation program, implemented new sales process system, and grew merchant unit sales more than 20% annualized in 6 months.

I was internally recruited from World Pay’s parent company RBS in 2008 right before the global financial collapse and tasked with running sales for the 15-person midmarket sales organization of 40+ people. I held direct P&L accountability for two of the company’s four financial reporting lines of business.

I joined Pittsburgh National Bank as a retail banking trainee and moved through several roles as PNC grew to become a top national bank. I moved through many roles throughout to retail and commercial banking organization and opened PNC's first off site Treasury Management Office in Los Angeles.  Managed and drove strong results in new sales channels with direct and private label partnership clients.
