It utilizes AI/ML and NLP to evaluate private early-stage investments and predict—with 90% accuracy—which private companies are “more likely” or “less likely” to be acquired, make it to IPO stage, or fail, and which companies will make it to the next funding round—with 88% accuracy. Capital VX is able to rank 1.2M private companies and 1.1M+ individuals in real time.

▶ Empowered VC firms and high-net-worth investors to analyze & rank early-stage companies and individuals by building a fully functioning advanced alternative investment trading platform. Drove vendor, partnership, and investor relations.
▶ Established proof of concept and led all aspects of product management and development. Implemented a software development version control system (VCS) by establishing a repository on GitHub. As the key strategic leader for AI/ML in the Credit Suisse Lab, I drove innovation by exploring new technologies and identifying moonshot opportunities. I collaborated with a team of data scientists to develop CS Lab’s first outside investable moonshot to disrupt and transform investment banking, private banking, wealth management, and retail banking. Serving on the vision and innovation team, I strategized new opportunities for CS to gain market advantage and competitive edge, and identified multiple proprietary datasets and other valuable public datasets for the project.

▶ Developed a business use case for CS Labs to deploy a next-generation analytics platform, in partnership with other CS divisions, to enable over 250K HNW private banking clients to access an investment risk management platform utilizing ML and NLP tools to provide: 1) predictive analytics to rank private company investment targets from “most likely” to “least likely” to be successful, 2) a matching engine to match investors’ interests and preferences to target company deal flow, and 3) due diligence automation allowing investors to analyze vast amounts of data about the company and its founders to highlight potential investment opportunities and risks.

Head of Machine Learning Innovation – Credit Suisse Labs GmbH

ECI, LLC

ECI is a real estate data analytics platform utilizing predictive analytics, NLP, and computer vision (CV) to fuel property investment decision-making and optimize ROI. I designed and launched AI-driven technology to automatically search and identify fix-and-flip properties in real time to aid the investment decision-making process through appraisal analytics. I explored methods for evaluating properties across the U.S. real estate market and developed a model for rapid deployment of crews to complete a multitude of real estate projects.

▶ Built a successful automated valuation model (AVM) to identify worthwhile real estate investments. Leveraging AI and data science, the tool assesses risk and projects likely repair costs and after-repair value (ARV) to ensure significant profit. Algorithm factors include MLS property data, demographics, transaction records, crime data, FEMA, title data, school system rankings, geospatial data, current asking price, and other data insights.
▶ Established a business use case. Met with end users, investors, and developers to create a system use case diagram (UCD). Gathered requirements and explored public domain datasets. Created a website wireframe, developed the algorithm, created the process and math to process the data, and visualized results.
▶ Tested the model and achieved up to 60% profit on at least 7 properties by utilizing the AVM algorithm to identify the top properties to invest in as fix-and-flips.  
▶ Leveraged CV and image recognition using convolutional neural networks (CNN) to rank the potential investment while factoring in the surrounding comparative properties to predict ROI. Created a human intelligence task (HIT) campaign on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk (MTurk) for image classification.

Stratis Investments, LLC

One of 4 founders of Stratis Investments, a multistrategy hedge fund focused on news-based trading strategies and systematic pairs-trading strategies. Spearheaded research, development, and launch of the high-frequency trading (HFT) platform. This included conducting data acquisition, leading alpha discovery & creation of initial alpha models, analyzing results of back-testing and optimizing overall performance, live data simulation, and reviewing quantitative models and evaluating hardware solutions such as FPGA and ASIC for HFT production in a live trading environment. 

▶ Designed the HFT platform to execute live trades and deliver positive ROI based on negative and positive news from Dow Jones real-time news, RavenPacks news analytics, DTN IQFeed for real-time & historical stock data, and Deltix, a complex event processing platform (CEP).
▶ Created a trading algorithm and platform to detect, classify, measure, and track the impact of news related to publicly traded companies to support the firm’s investment objective of delivering consistently positive returns regardless of the directional movement in equity, interest rates, or currency markets. I founded Treocht to leverage computational linguistics, text mining, text analytics, ML, and NLG to build a sentiment analysis engine to automatically & instantly analyze massive volumes of news, blogs, and other forms of text to predict movements in commodity prices and, ultimately, all publicly traded companies. I secured funding and drove the business strategy. 

▶ Partnered with Trinity College Dublin to build and manage a team of data scientists and developers. 
▶ Pioneered a multidimensional sentiment analysis engine which, in conjunction with predictive analytics, created a platform to monitor the world for events that could impact a person, company or government, and analyze millions of pieces (news, blogs, etc.) in real-time, within a fraction of a second.
▶ Gained “high potential startup” designation by Enterprise Ireland, a government entity in Ireland. 
▶ Developed and deployed a disruptive technology for the financial industry, fusing fundamental analysis and technical analysis into a single platform referred to as fusion analytics.
