I never wanted a boss. Ever. 

Since a very young age I had a problem with authority.

→ I always wanted to do my own thing. 
→ It's not that I didn't like people. I love people.  
→ I love motivating, making people laugh, and all that other fun stuff....

I just never wanted anyone telling me what to do. 

I just couldn't shake it, no matter how hard I tried.  

For the first 6 years of my working career I did the best I could, but just couldn't ignore the feeling of not wanting to work for someone. 

One day I found a blogging platform and it changed my entire career and life forever.   

9 months later, I quit my job and never looked back.  Not once.  That was back in 2007. 

I began my journey in digital media with the creation of one website which turned into an entire career of both representing and owning websites. 

To date I've never taken any investment capital and have worked with thousands of people. 

→ I was also able to work only 3-4 hours a day.  
→ It was a consistent 7 figure business for nearly 18 years (and is still going).

So what do I do now?

While I'm still involved in that space, I only spend about 30 min a day on it.

Now I do one thing:

→ Help people leverage their personal brand to grow their business, attract clients, and grow their networks. 

This is done through a 3-step framework I call I.S.E. or "Ice"

I.S.E. stands for:

Identify, Strategize, Execute

The idea is to take:

→ 2-3 needle movers (Identify)
→ Create a strategy around them (Strategize), 
→ Execute on that strategy with the support of others (Execute)

It's through this strategy you can build a brand, forge amazing relationships, and sell your product or service.

My LinkedIn videos don't rank on Google, so I posted them on YouTube and got 20,000 views. SO easy to do this yourself. 

1) Start on YouTube with Your Name

Not your company name. 

Because people prefer watching people. 

+ you need to show up in search for your name

2) Post Your Videos

Post the videos you posted on LinkedIn, on YouTube. 

Title them, add hashtags, link to long-form if possible.

Boom, done 💣

3) Rule of 100

After 100 videos, re-assess. 

Is this worth pursuing further?

Here are the 5 most common mistakes: 

1) Burrying the lead

Your prospects don't love learning about finance.

But they'll tolerate it if they know what's in it for them.

So please, get to the damn point, and fast.

2) Small talk

Your clients don't care about your fav NFL team.

Prospects care even less. 

Only small talk when you're big. 

3) Quality

You're a financial professional. 

Recording with an iPhone 5?

It ain't gonna cut it in 2025. 

Invest in your setup. 

4) Consistency

Most advisors make 5 YouTube videos. 

Then say, "It didn't work."

Do 100 videos, then reassess. 

5) Targeting

Oh, you're an advisor for "professionals?"

Good luck. 

Advisor for "MSP owners scaling to 8-figures in the next 12 months?"

Now we're onto something.

Niche, then niche, then niche again.

Podcast studios are an experience. 

And after 7 years? 

Its pros vs cons:

Virtual:
- You are the producer
- Instant content with AI
- Access to more guests, easier

In Person
- You are not the producer
- Have to arrange travel
- Higher quality content

It's not a good vs bad. 

It's all about what works for 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

Casting a wide-ass net might work for fishing, but not for your niche podcast. All of my clients who have sponsors, or took their show full-time, did it in a niche. 

🧛‍♂️ 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥-𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯' Guests

Crazy as it sounds, we all have a network of "successful people." This doesn't mean they're worthy of more than 100 views on YouTube. Each episode should add to the storyline you want your brand story to tell.

🧟‍♂️ 𝘡𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥 Marketing

Your episode is not on TV. Nobody is gifting you views. From repurposing content to social outreach, each episode needs a strategic plan. No strategy? The podcast graveyard awaits! 

🏹 𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 Without a Clear CTA

Your CTA should match the shoooooooow's ooouuuttcome 👻, my b, looks like a ghost got in here. Anyway, every episode should have a clear outcome for the listener and a clear CTA.

Podcasting without defining metrics is like wandering into a haunted house with your eyes closed. If you don't know where you're going, you definitely won't get there. Choose metrics that match the goal of your marketing, not your ego.

Your marketer is the reason you don't get leads?
It's time to face the reality:

Blaming them solves nothing.

• "They said the results would come."
• "They said to invest in LinkedIn, so we did."
• "They said there was a lot of money in podcasting."

All things that you accepted as reality. 

Before knowing the "how" behind it.

Let's think about this for a sec. 

The marketer attracts the lead.
The salesperson closes the lead.
And the owner is in charge of that system. 

This means as owners, we're technically to blame.

• When = free
• Where = free
• How = paid 

Example: 

• Who = service businesses scaling to 7-figures
• What = a podcast to replace your marketing
• When = you're tired of relying on agencies/marketers
• Where = Spotify, Apple, LinkedIn, YouTube, Email
• How = 

Once they ask, “So, how do we do this?” 

That’s when you get paid.

Everything else is free.

It’s that simple.

3. Routine - I audited what interrupted my routine & set non-negotiables

Most of us need help to steer us in the right direction, especially with fitness. 

And if you're the CEO, being in shape is key. 

If not for yourself, then for your kids, spouse, employees, etc.
