Creating Impactful Personal Brands for Founders

I never wanted a boss. Ever. 

Since a very young age I had a problem with authority.

→ I always wanted to do my own thing. 
→ It's not that I didn't like people. I love people.  
→ I love motivating, making people laugh, and all that other fun stuff....

I just never wanted anyone telling me what to do. 

I just couldn't shake it, no matter how hard I tried.  

For the first 6 years of my working career I did the best I could, but just couldn't ignore the feeling of not wanting to work for someone. 

One day I found a blogging platform and it changed my entire career and life forever.   

9 months later, I quit my job and never looked back.  Not once.  That was back in 2007. 

I began my journey in digital media with the creation of one website which turned into an entire career of both representing and owning websites. 

To date I've never taken any investment capital and have worked with thousands of people. 

→ I was also able to work only 3-4 hours a day.  
→ It was a consistent 7 figure business for nearly 18 years (and is still going).

So what do I do now?

While I'm still involved in that space, I only spend about 30 min a day on it.

Now I do one thing:

→ Help people leverage their personal brand to grow their business, attract clients, and grow their networks. 

This is done through a 3-step framework I call I.S.E. or "Ice"

I.S.E. stands for:

Identify, Strategize, Execute

The idea is to take:

→ 2-3 needle movers (Identify)
→ Create a strategy around them (Strategize), 
→ Execute on that strategy with the support of others (Execute)

It's through this strategy you can build a brand, forge amazing relationships, and sell your product or service.

The solution:

Create as many touchpoints and relationships as possible with target customers.

1) Post more video content; You and your co-founder both need to put yourselves out there and connect with your potential customers from different perspectives of the same company.

2) Engage with target customers here on LinkedIn to build more strong relationships with them before reaching out.

3) Then, maybe amplify growth by running LinkedIn thought leadership ads on the video content from both co-founders' accounts.

Watching Vukasin Vukosavljevic say this in an interview with Antonio Černeli made me so happy because...

I used to be afraid to ask founders to connect me with someone in their customer support or sales team.

You know, I'm not part of their internal team - just someone there to help with content, so I expected founders to push back on it.

But just like Vukasin said;

He had to collaborate with their customer support and sales to make sure he was optimizing the messaging and copy of every campaign he put out to speak directly to their target customers.

And I see the same thing with LinkedIn content.

Instead of making up content, I should look at what your users and prospects are saying on a daily basis.

Also, instead of telling ChatGPT to give me content ideas,

I should be close to the team to get deep insights and not make up things.

P.S. I was scrolling my YouTube feed this morning after getting pumped up by a video from Alex Hormozi, and then I saw Vukasin and Antonio’s video.

I watched the whole thing while doing dishes and making breakfast.

My experience working with a busy SaaS founder like Frank Sondors 🥓 taught me this:

As a busy founder, you can always make out time for content if you want to.

Frank is so busy and I didn't know I could interview someone for 30 mins and still get everything I need to create 5 different video content pieces from that one interview.

...So a few months ago, I got the idea of switching from ghostwriting text posts to helping SaaS founders post 5 videos every week just from interviewing them once a week - judging from the rise of AI content here.

And I got the opportunity to try that on Frank because I knew I would learn a lot from working with someone like him.

We’re still testing things out, and in the video below, you’ll see the 5 content pillars I use every week to ask Frank questions that get him saying things that speak to his target customers.
