Who am I?

Before launching King Strategic Consulting, I led a business unit for a global healthcare services firm. What started as a turnaround turned into a growing enterprise that quadrupled in revenue. 

Throughout my career, I’ve developed products and built teams for start up, publicly traded, and PE backed organizations.

I have an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and reside in Nashville, TN with my wife and our twin 14-year old boys.

At this large, full-service agency, Engauge (purchased by Publicis in 2013 and merged with Moxie), I transformed the underdeveloped social media department into the social media agency of choice for giant brands, including Coca-Cola, Cisco, Chick-fil-A, Wells Fargo, and UPS, and integrated the marketing departments, training our Creative, Technology, and Media teams to work comfortably and effectively with a social media/multi-channel focus.

The success of our new strategy attracted national media attention for the company's social media services, and I became known throughout the industry as a thought leader in integrated marketing. I was interviewed by NPR and USA Today, and published in Harvard Business Review.

➜ Received a promotion to Senior Vice President within first year. Assumed leadership of Analytics and CRM functions, transforming the failing Analytics department into a client winner. 

➜ Revitalized and integrated Social Media, CRM, and Analytics departments, slashing turnover and developing a team of 20 into a unified, multi-channel relationship marketing/content marketing powerhouse.

Razorfish (now called Publicis.Sapient) was the world's largest interactive agency. I was hired as Senior Manager and was quickly promoted to Director after creating the agency's first digital marketing strategy and team. I grew our team from 3 to 15, including marketing, business strategist, and brand planning staff, created the first digital strategy workbook, and designed multi-year, global digital marketing programs for clients in this then-new field.

➜ Led team in development of the B2C digital marketing roadmap for a major health and beauty products company, which increased revenues and allowed our client to achieve its goal of 71% growth by 2012.

➜ Brought regional retailer Belk to national presence with a multi-channel strategy and 5-year ecommerce plan to grow the digital channel by 1,000% in 5 years.
