What do you like? What don't you like? Which would get you to pick it up off the shelf?

Ghostwriter. Exploring the art and science of storytelling. Debut fantasy novel this fall. Building something new.

A few years ago, I went to a $15 open mic in Austin. First comedy show I’d seen.

Dude gets on stage. The crowd goes nuts. It’s Shane Gillis, one of the most popular comedians in the world.

He pulls out a notebook and a pen, grabs the mic, and starts telling jokes.

When the crowd gives one of those loud, genuine laughs, he jots down a note. When the crowd looks at each other, confused, he jots down a note. When the crowd stares at him, expecting more, he jots down a note.

You get the idea. He’s testing jokes. Making a note of what’s connecting and, even more importantly, what’s not.

Then, I imagine, he cuts or changes the parts that don’t connect. Tests them again another night. And repeats the process until the joke, his story, is tight and compelling throughout.

He made me realize:

This is how you can treat Storytelling, too.

Your story is flexible. You can constantly test, get feedback, improve, repeat. Like Shane, what you’re looking for is moments of connection:

- Your boss starts nodding along.
- Someone leans forward in their chair.
- Your beta reader leaves a great comment.
- There’s a spark of interest in your partner’s eye.

You get the idea. You’re searching for that visceral reaction in your audience. When you see it, you double down.

Stories are iterative.

I've created 2 new landing pages over the last 6 months. One converts horribly while the other converts incredibly well. Some weird stats:

- The horrible converting one is priced at $99.
- The incredibly well converting one is priced at $499.

The obvious answer is an audience mismatch -- people expect story related stuff from me, not 'grow your writing business.'

Sure that matters but let's be real not a <1% to 18%+ jump.

So what's the difference?

Very simply -- I ran the second LP through 🇺🇦 Eddie Shleyner's entire Transformational Landing Pages training... and haven't put that effort into the first.

One idea that -- in my opinion -- made the biggest difference:

Fascinations

Eddie says a fascination is "any sentence designed to conjure intense curiosity and compel action, in that order."

Capture the attention, then direct it.

Invest Lithuania is the official FDI attraction agency of Lithuania, that operates directly under the Ministry of Economy and Innovation. We'll partner with you on your business establishment and successful growth in Lithuania's private sector ecosystem. 
My key responsibilities:
- Pitching Lithuania to Global Companies as a location for their Business Services center establishment
- Keeping close contact with Global Companies that have already established themselves in Lithuania (aftercare)
- Helping companies establish and grow successfully in Lithuania, coordinating their business site development strategy
- Researching on various topics, that relate to location assessment criteria (employment law, talent ecosystem, taxes and governmental incentives for business development, real estate availability, etc.)

- Writing yearly Lithuania's Global Business Services report and other supplementary marketing material

Teltonika Telematics

- Coordinated business and marketing development side of Professional Series GPS trackers
- Analysed GPS tracking market around the world, collected information about main competitors and clients
- Prepared and lead technical and sales trainings for Teltonika Telematics sales managers around the world
- Presented solutions and use cases to the clients and business partners
- Analysed and presented sales results of Professional trackers to the top management on a monthly basis
- Kept close contact with fleet management software providers (business partners) around the world

Project Development Coordinator

- Sold Telematics devices (vehicle trackers that read FMS, OBDII, CAN data) to B2B clients
- Kept close relationships with clients from the Baltic region

- Was responsible for client migration project, planned and evaluated the process and its results
- Analysed 3G mobile data consumption in Lithuania and prepared several business case scenarios for 3G sunset project
- Analysed weekly mobile services sales and modifications results
- Coordinated internal sales competition between sales teams, analysed their results

- Worked on public sector projects covering public transportation system and the administration systems of several municipalities in Lithuania
- Duties: desk research, creation of technical specifications, writing sales and project forms, creating slides for the projects, analysing the laws in Lithuania and optimising the administrative operations of different municipalities

Junior Analyst | Summer Internship

If Insurance Baltic (If P&C Insurance AS)

- Worked directly with the Business Process Development Manager
- Duties: optimised company’s clients’ database, created and optimised digital sales forms using Excel Macros, checked and renewed contracts with the company’s business partners and private clients

I am an experienced Business Development specialist and Investment Advisor, with experience in Project Coordination, Business and Marketing Strategy, Business Analysis, and Sales. Since attaining my degree in Economics and Business Management from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (Class of 2020), all my previous work experiences were related to the previously mentioned fields. 

Our goal at Invest Lithuania is to enhance Lithuania's business ecosystem by attracting modern and progressive international companies. By opening their offices in Lithuania, companies get highly-skilled talent, which helps firms operate at an advantageous level and reach their strategic goals, which in turn reinforces Lithuania's image and the skill levels of its talent ecosystem.
