Most emails are dead on arrival.

Your buyers' inboxes are overflowing with inbound messages, so they triage a bit like this:

1 - Boss, colleagues, clients (always replied to)
2 - Current partners (often replied to)
3 - Familiar people (sometimes replied to)
4 - The netherworld of cold crap (seldom replied to)

Your goal is tier 2, but you have to get into 3 first.

The fix is familiarity, and you build that before you pitch, not during it.
