Natale Scopelliti

My focus is seeking justice - whether for fraud victims, those harmed by ethics violations, kids failed by broken systems, or communities impacted by corruption. 

After over 20 years working in law enforcement and investigations, I co-founded a boutique law firm concentrating on the areas I'm most passionate about - representing victims seeking justice, conducting sensitive internal investigations, and providing strong regulatory defense.

My investigative experience includes serving as First Deputy Commissioner at New York City's Inspector General's Office, the Department of Investigation, for 4 years.  There, I oversaw every criminal and civil case, working closely with city and state agencies. 

My work led to prosecutions of fraudulent corporations and nonprofits, corrupt city workers and contractors. During my time at DOI, we issued over 50 reports that catalyzed major reforms like examining the NYPD's failure to properly investigate sexual assaults, exposing dangerous false reporting of lead paint testing at NYCHA properties, and detailing child welfare's systemic failures to protect kids in foster care.

Before DOI, I spent nearly two decades prosecuting all kinds of cases for the NY Attorney General's Office and Queens DA's Office - from political corruption, tax fraud and antitrust violations to nursing/medical practice violations. I've also served as Chief Compliance Officer for the State Liquidation Bureau.

I strongly believe in public education and awareness. I've published articles in the NY Law Journal, NY Daily News and City & State. And I love sharing my experience by speaking about legal ethics and best practices at conferences and seminars.
