As we approach 2026, many of us will start working on our New Year’s resolutions & weight is usually at the top of the list! 

Here’s something I find interesting - we often focus on the number on the scale, but rarely do we consider the other kinds of weight we carry - especially the weight of other people's opinions! 

The best weight to lose is the weight of expectations, judgments & the unnecessary pressure we put on ourselves because of what others think. That kind of weight doesn’t show up on any scale, but it can feel just as heavy, if not more! 

Sometimes lightening our load isn't about dropping pounds, but about shedding those invisible burdens!

Even human perception is tied to these principles & can be commonly felt! 

Brain waves, for example, have different frequencies that correspond to different states of consciousness & the frequency and energy of the human voice conveys emotion! 

Even in our everyday language & intuitively speaking, we say - I am not on the same wave length as this person or We are so much on the same wave length... 

Do you pick up on this as far as your own wavelength is concerned & those of others whom you come into contact with?

We live in a world obsessed with more - more resources, more status, more tools & Zig Ziglar's reminder about what we actually use is what truly makes the difference!

Success isn’t just about what you have - it’s about how you leverage what you’ve got! 

The most successful people did not have all the resources however they had resourcefulness! Whether it’s skills, time, or resources, it’s all about resourcefulness & making the best of what’s in front of you! 

A friend was telling me that she is waiting to join a gym in January to start exercising as they will have a discounted rate & I asked her what is stopping her from stepping outside free of charge and walk or run right now? 

Success starts with our Mindset - Instead of waiting for more or later, focus on making something with what you already have work for you!

This thought-provoking wisdom by Nietzsche resonates deeply with me as I am often perplexed as to how we make things more complicated than they need to be!

Some maybe impressed by this level of complexity which on the surface may seem profound however upon closer inspection, it may be nothing more than smoke & mirrors and can backfire! 

We often confuse complexity with wisdom however true clarity & insight often come from simplifying & distilling the core of what’s important!

Depth isn’t about making things appear complicated - it’s about understanding the heart of the matter & making it accessible, actionable & meaningful!

Silence is golden is a saying we've all heard however silence can also be the root of unproductive communication and silent treatment is anything but golden!

Just like a coin has two sides, we must know when to stay silent & when to speak up! 

Without this balance, it's like driving without knowing when to accelerate or brake! 

One of the most damaging forms of communication is the Silent treatment - refusing to communicate, or even acknowledge the other person's presence while they are there. It’s often used to avoid conflict or punish the other person & can sometimes be a form of emotional abuse, especially when it’s used to manipulate or control! 

I’ve experienced this firsthand & have seen how it impacts people. People around this person feel ostracized & stressed, often apologizing just to break the silence! 

This is not an effective way to resolve conflicts & people who do this end up harming a lot of others! 

We must learn to face uncomfortable situations & communicate our concerns openly. Silence can be powerful, but only when used intentionally, not as a weapon!
