Offer > Fake Personalisation.

Day 1 on Linkedin? Here’s what I’d focus on:

1. Study competitors & observe what’s working
2. Send some connections to your ICP
3. Start conversations daily 5 with ICP & 2 with peers

No engagement pods. No 100 comments a day. No 2 posts a day.

Study what content performs and take notes.

Think about how you could things better/differently.

Then, connect with a few prospects and shoot some DMs.

Get used to reaching out to decision makers via chat.

Network with creators and build a relationship or two.

This'll give you a foundation, now you can start posting and sky is your limit.

"Don't post on Linkedin on Sunday"... is dumb advice.

As I've been prospecting wealthier buyers...

I've realised they are SUPER busy during the week.

But, evenings and weekends they a have a lil more time.

Many of them use Sunday to prepare for the week ahead.

They scroll more on Linkedin that day.

Respond to some emails, DMs that are less urgent.

Make the most of this.

Don't assume Linkedin is dead on Sundays.

I'd argue it's very much alive and well, ESPECIALLY if your buyers are busy c-suite decision makers.

Post as normal, shoot your shot in the DMs as normal.

You'll book way more meetings.

Some industries hand you buying signals daily. Others make you guess.

93% of your market doesn't need you right now. Stop messaging all of them.

In most markets, only 3-7% of prospects are ready to buy at any given time.

A list of 1,000 ICP-fit people means 30-70 actually need what you're selling today. 

The other 930 might need you in six months, a year, or never.

When you message all 1,000 with the same pitch, you're hoping to land in front of one of those 30-70 by chance. 

That's a 3-7% shot at relevance — before your message quality even matters.

That's why standard cold outreach gets 1-3% reply rates. 

Despite what the cold email bro's will tell you- the math is against you from the start.

Now flip it. 

Identify which of those 1,000 are in the buying window right now.

You message 50 instead of 1,000.

Every irrelevant message you send trains a future buyer to ignore you.

I'm going to be transparent about something most agencies won't tell you.

If you wanted to build the signal-based outreach system we run for clients — yourself, from scratch — it would cost roughly $4,000 to $5,000 per month in tools alone. 

Before your time.  Before the developer who sets it up and maintains it.

Here's the breakdown:

- LinkedIn Sales Navigator and enrichment APIs: around $1,500/month. 

We're scraping large amounts of data because 99% of signals don't qualify. But you have to check them all.

- AI API subscriptions: anywhere from $200 to $1,000/month depending on volume. 

We spent $1,000 with Anthropic last month alone because of the amount of qualification and research the system processes.

- AI agent building tools: roughly $500/month. 

Plus developer maintenance ($500-$1000), because these systems break. Regularly.

Claude AI turns you into a 1-person LinkedIn outreach team that books more sales meetings than 20 human SDRs

I built a system that finds high-intent buyers & writes relevant DMs in one conversation.

Here's what it does:

Most AI outreach tools insert [First Name] and [Company] and call it "personalization."

That's not personalization. 
That's a mail merge with a better vocabulary.

My system does 3 things differently:

→ It searches Apollo for prospects showing specific buying signals - job postings open 45+ days, new VP hires, headcount spikes, recent funding - all inside the same Claude conversation

→ It writes DMs under 60 words that reference the signal, not the job title. "45 days into the SDR Manager search - how's the team holding up?" hits different than "I help companies improve their sales process"

→ It builds a follow-up sequence where every message adds a new angle instead of "just bumping this to the top of your inbox"

The difference comes down to one number.

Only 3-7% of any market is in an active buying window at any given time. If you message everyone with the right job title, 93% of them don't have a reason to care today.

Signals find the ones who do.

The worst outreach I've ever seen was written by the best AI tools.

Flawless grammar. Professional tone. Clean formatting. Absolutely zero reason to reply.

That's what happens when you hand GPT-4 your website copy and say "write me a LinkedIn outreach sequence."

It'll give you something polished. Something that sounds like a sales email from 2019 wearing a better suit. 

And your prospect will archive it alongside the nine other messages they got today that read exactly the same way.

The AI did its job perfectly. It took what you gave it and made it sound good.

The problem is that sounding good and being relevant are completely different things.

I've reviewed hundreds of AI-generated outreach sequences at this point. 

The pattern is always the same. The sender knows nothing about the recipient except their name and job title. 

So the AI fills the gap with vague flattery and generic value props.

"I admire what you're building at [Company]."
"Teams like yours often struggle with [broad problem]."
"Would love to explore synergies."

It's technically competent. It's emotionally empty. The prospect feels nothing because the message says nothing specific to them.

Now compare that to a message where the AI knows the prospect commented about demand-gen challenges last week, their company just posted three marketing roles, and they've been engaging with a competitor's content.

Same AI. Same capability. 

But now it has something real to work with — and the output reads like a human who's done their homework.

Your prospects can't tell the difference between AI and human anymore. But they can absolutely tell the difference between someone who knows their situation and someone who doesn't.

The tool isn't the bottleneck. The intelligence you feed it is.

Behavioral signals — what people do on LinkedIn — only tell half the story. 

The other half is structural signals. The situation they're actually in.

We sell lead generation (amongst other things).When someone engages with lead gen content, that looks like a signal. 

But if their company has a 15-person marketing department with a VP of Demand Gen and three SDRs — they're not outsourcing lead gen anytime soon. 

Their structure says they've solved this internally.

Same logic everywhere. 

You sell outsourced accounting and the prospect has a CFO, VP of Finance, and a bookkeeping team? 

Engagement with accounting content doesn't mean they need you.

Structural signals include headcount growth or decline in specific departments, hiring velocity, employee churn in key functions, what technologies they're adopting or dropping, and whether teams are expanding or contracting.

The challenge is that no human can monitor all of this across hundreds of companies simultaneously. 

That's where AI comes in. 

We use AI agents that pull structural data  through APIs and cross-reference it against behavioral activity in real time.

The agent doesn't just flag that a CMO liked a competitor's post. 

It checks whether that CMO's company grew marketing 33% year-on-year and shrank their design department at the same time. That combination tells you they're almost certainly outsourcing creative work right now.

Behavioral says: "This person is interested in what I do."
Structural says: "This person is actually in a position to buy."

You need both. And you need a system that can evaluate both at scale — because doing it manually for every lead in your market isn't realistic.

Stop treating every LinkedIn interaction as a buying signal. Start looking at the full picture.

Content supports your outreach. It doesn't replace it.

When prospects research you after receiving your message, they need to see you know what you're talking about.

That's it.

Every cold message should answer two questions but most still answers zero.

When we write outreach for signal-based campaigns, every message has to answer two things before the prospect finishes reading: Why you? And why now?

Most outreach answers one — badly.

"We help companies like yours grow revenue." Weak "why you." Zero "why now."

"Saw you're hiring." Acknowledges timing. Doesn't explain why you can help.

When both are present, something shifts.

"Congrats on the growth. Are you outsourcing creative as you scale?"

That works because the prospect just grew their team 33%. Timing is obvious. The question implies you solve a problem they're actively dealing with.

You don't need to call out the exact signal. 

You don't have to say "I noticed you liked three lead gen posts last Tuesday." 

That can feel weird and a bit stalkery.

What you want is for the prospect to feel like you've spent 15 minutes on their website. 

Like you understand their situation — not your product.

We've been doing this a while and so we've tested all the approaches to referencing signals. 

Sometimes calling it out directly works. 

Sometimes speaking to their situation without revealing how you know is better.

Either way: every touch should be relevant to what's happening in their world right now.

When you do this, the response shifts from "stop spamming me, creep" to "they've clearly done their research — I owe them a reply."

That shift from interruption to earned attention is the ENTIRE GAME. 

And it's only possible when you know what's happening with the prospect before you message them.
