Unpopular opinion: 
People who say ‘the Swiss are closed’ usually just don’t know how to build relationships.

A few months ago, I met a German guy at a train station.

He told me he travels four hours every day.

Two hours to work.
Two hours back.

When I asked why, he said he moved close to the border because he “doesn’t get along with the Swiss”.

Too closed.
Too distant.
Too hard to make new contacts.

So he chose a daily commute instead of learning how to connect with the people around him.

For me, that is the real problem.

I never had issues connecting with Swiss people.

I feel grateful to live here.
To be part of this culture.
To have strong relationships with people who may not open up fast, but who stay when they do.

If you cannot build new contacts in a place like Switzerland, the hard truth hurts a bit.

The issue is not “the Swiss”.

The issue is:
- How you show up.
- How you listen.
- How you add value to others.
- How patient you are with trust.

In life and in business, you are not entitled to connection.

You earn it by being a valuable person in other people’s lives.

That is true offline in Switzerland.
That is true online on LinkedIn and Instagram.
