I lost 6 figures and my dad in the same year. 
And nothing prepared me for that journey.

The startup my dad and I founded was focused on heating with hydrogen. We believed in the mission. We poured everything into it. I even bootstrapped everything with my savings. But in the end, I lost it all.

Closing the business after he passed away meant piles of paperwork in Germany and hard decisions to make. It was overwhelming. 

But even in the darkest moments, unexpected doors opened.
Through the startup, I met Simon Davies. 

Fast forward 1.5 years: 
Simon introduced me to Thomas J. Caduff during a network event. Thomas invited me to Dubai. That connection led to opportunities I couldn’t have imagined - an international keynote in Dubai, new networks, and perspectives that reshaped my journey.

Looking back, I realize every step-even the painful ones - shaped who I am today.

Sure, I’ve made mistakes I’d undo if I could. But the connections I’ve built, the lessons I’ve learned? I wouldn’t trade them for anything. 

Here’s what losing-and finding myself again-taught me: 
- Setbacks shape your resilience. 
- Bold moves invite unexpected growth. 
- The hardest paths create the most powerful stories. 

Today, when I stand and speak about AI, technology, and growth, I do it with gratitude. Gratitude for the losses, the challenges, and the people who were there along the way. 

Not everything makes sense as it happens. But when you look back, the dots start to connect.

AI kills human connection.

I hear this often.

When I say I’m passionate about AI and human connection, I get strange looks.
Because many people believe AI and human connection can’t coexist.
But I disagree.

This month, I spoke about this at the Capital Club Dubai.

The topic? How AI can amplify human connection instead of replacing it.

Here’s the truth:

AI doesn’t have to kill connection.

It can:
- Simplify how we interact with data.
- Deepen the relationships we’ve already built.
- Amplify the ways we connect authentically.

The opportunities are enormous.

But it takes intention-and a human-first approach.

I’m grateful for the chance to share this vision with leaders and innovators in Dubai.

Dubai showed me what’s possible when bold thinking meets action, especially in AI.

Now I’m curious:

Switzerland is my happy place. But after Dubai, my idea of 'possible' changed forever.

When I first arrived in Dubai, I didn’t love it.

It felt flashy, loud, and unreal.

I missed the calm beauty of Switzerland-the place I always call home.

But as the days went by, something shifted.

I started to see the energy behind the surface. The drive. The ambition.

Dubai isn’t just a city; it’s a mindset.

• High-paced innovation
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• A belief that anything is possible

It’s no surprise that Dubai now ranks as the world’s most attractive city for the wealthy, ahead of New York, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Here’s what makes it stand out:

• Favorable tax policies
• Political stability
• Family-oriented infrastructure
• A supportive environment for entrepreneurship

And let’s not forget the Golden Visa program, drawing elite global citizens with investor-friendly policies.

Being surrounded by people who radiate such energy was inspiring.

Their attitude? Go forward. Build the future.

It made me reflect on Europe, where restrictions often slow down innovation.

Dubai, in contrast, feels like a launchpad for ideas and growth.

Leaving Dubai, I felt deeply inspired.

The city’s vibe, its people, and its possibilities left a lasting impression.

Will I go back? Definitely.

The best networking isn’t about talking.

This month, I had the privilege of attending the Fundplat GmbH Desert Talks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

It wasn’t just about discovering what’s possible in these vibrant cities, it was about being in the right room.

A room filled with inspiring individuals, where I could listen, absorb, and grow.

Here’s what stood out:

• Tradition meets innovation:
I learned how the finance sector blends deep-rooted practices with bold, forward-thinking ideas. It’s a reminder that growth doesn’t mean leaving the past behind-it means building on it.

• Inspiration fuels growth:
Being surrounded by people who challenge your thinking and open your perspective is invaluable. It’s not about being the loudest voice in the room; it’s about soaking in the wisdom around you.

• Collaboration creates win-wins:
The best connections happen when people come together to share insights, not just exchange business cards. That’s where real impact begins.

Walking through these conversations, I realized something important:

Growth isn’t just about strategies or tools. It’s about the people who inspire you to think bigger and do better.

And sometimes, the best way to grow is simply to listen.
