As for me personally, I spend most of my time thinking and talking about how nonprofits can use technology to make their corner of the world a better place.

I also sprinkle in some lessons I've learned from running a small business for 15+ years.

I'm really interested in the power of story to connect people and cross boundaries.

I have a special place in my heart for rare disease orgs and building more inclusive spaces for neurodiversity. I also get especially fired up about educational, social justice and environmental causes.

When I'm not nonprofiting, I'm most likely nerding out on board games with my wife, having a dance party with my two young kiddos, sitting on a patio with friends or out walking somewhere with my pups. Chances are I'm wearing a flannel shirt and may or may not have shoes on.

I’ve been quiet on LinkedIn these last couple of months.

And there are really only two things I miss.


1. The People
You all are easily number one. And it’s not particularly close.

I’ve made some dear friends here over the past couple of years. And while we catch up in other ways, LinkedIn has consistently been a fantastic way to keep up with one another.

You all are the main reason I know I’ll be back soon.


2. Sharpening My Thinking
I primarily use LinkedIn to think out loud. And to learn from all of the amazing folks who generously share their magic in my feed.

Writing helps me sharpen my half-formed thoughts into something I’m proud to put my name on.


The break has come from a mix of factors.

Challenges with my kiddo’s school that have taken a lot of time and energy. A spike in nonprofits needing website help because of this Flipcause situation.

And honestly, just needing a mental reset. To turn down the volume for a little while.

I appreciate everyone who has reached out to check in. I miss you all, and hope your holidays have been filled with whatever charges your batteries.
