YMCA Camp Wapsie 

- Collect and turn in required waste, drinking, and pool water samples; Record and turn in monthly waste water reports to the DNR; Monitor daily influent and effluent flows; Add Chlorinating and De-Chlorinating pucks when necessary; Utilize a variety of water analyzing tools to monitor Dissolved Oxygen, Total Residual Chlorine, pH, and Temperature; Clean out the lines in our treatment fields and treat the fields with ammonia before the start of summer; Work with contractors to fix problems with pumps not working, replaced dead start and run capacitors, and replaced floats; Adjust pump run times for seasonal usage; Raise monitoring levels to the engineer recommended routine maintenance schedule.

SNAPSHOT: The Scouting Program serves a dual capacity.  Registered Boy Scouts work on rank advancement and merit badges.  Non-Boy Scouts are introduced to outdoor skills such as fire building, knot tying, orienteering, first aid, shelter building, and cooking.  Culver Summer Schools & Camps have 38 countries represented at camp.  Many youth are ESL. 

Scouting Director (2009, 2010, 2019)
• Responsible for the entire Scouting Program
• Championed the end-to-end development and building of a new Scouting Headquarters including ideation, fundraising, execution, and implementation 
• Recruited, trained, mentored, and evaluated Scouting Program staff
• Supervised youth activities to ensure a safe and fun environment
• Conducted an inventory of the Scouting Program supplies, equipment, and their conditions; requested items from the Program Office for the following summer
• Evaluated the Scouting curriculum for efficiency and effectiveness, simplifying the program when necessary, and focusing primarily on experiential-learning
• Planned, organized, and taught campers how to cook 20 gallons of chili over an open fire for a special event dubbed “Chili Day,” an alternative option for camp lunch provided by the Scouting Program three times every summer

SNAPSHOT: Initially sent to Johns Manville for an Operator position.  Transitioned to a short-term contract position (9/2017 - 3/2018) as HR Assistant after a conversation with the Production Superintendent, EHS Specialist, and Plant Manager. I was asked to become the plant's main recruiter and hire enough qualified individuals to bring the plant to a 4-shift capacity.

• Worked closely with the Plant Manager, Group Human Resources Leader, Occupational Health 
• Manager, EHS Specialist, Production Superintendent, and Warehouse Supervisor
• Recruited, interviewed, and facilitated the hiring of 15 qualified job applicants including: a pre-employment health screening; signed up applicants for a physical and a background check; reviewed results with hiring managers; filled out and sent an offer letter; collected, submitted, and filed I-9 paperwork; brought the plant to 4-shift capacity one month before corporate’s deadline
• Pinpointed desired traits in applicants by collaborating with departmental managers: reduced the process by 60%
• Implemented new onboarding policies (100% participation) that were added to staff training week; worked with new hires to create an ADP account, sign up for benefits, and create a login for company benefits
• Audited and brought up-to-date all personnel files; reviewed Johns Manville’s HR policy and sent appropriate files to corporate for storage  
• Simplified and enhanced HR reports and forms including how-to-apply, performance reviews, termination paperwork, job safety analysis, and new hire documentation
