When students grasp that early enough, everything changes.

Today I had a real conversation with a group of Year 11 students.

I told them something they don’t always hear clearly enough:

If you don’t do well in school, your options will be limited.

Not because you’re not capable.
Not because your future is decided.
But because certain doors require certain results and that’s just the reality.

Applying to a sixth form or college doesn’t mean you’re automatically going there.
You have to earn your place.

Grades aren’t everything in life…
But right now, they are the key that unlocks your next step.

I reminded them:

You don’t have to be the smartest in the room.

You just have to be disciplined enough to give yourself a chance.

The work you put in now = the choices you get later.

Year 10 is where GCSE success is built, not year 11.

In this session, I challenged students with a simple truth:

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Success isn’t a mistake.
It happens on purpose.

The students who create and follow a timetable outside of school now will thank themselves next year.

Discipline beats motivation.
Structure builds confidence.
Preparation reduces pressure.

Schools that embed these habits early don’t just see better grades, they see calmer, more resilient students.

3.5 years in Dubai...

I loved it.

Meet Olsen.

Fox red Labrador. 5 years old.

Born in Wales.
Grew up in England.
Spent 3 years living in Dubai.

And is now back in England doing what he was always meant to do:

Rolling in mud, swimming in the sea and eating carrots at every available opportunity.

He is the most well travelled dog I know.

And he has absolutely no idea what's coming next.

They offered me £100,000 a year.

I said no.

Not because I was confident.

Not because I had a plan.

Honestly? I was a little naive.

I just knew that sitting across from someone else's desk for the next 40 years wasn't it for me.

So I left.

Started a business.

Figured it out as I went.

Made mistakes (plenty of them)

Still am.

But 8 months in, I'd hit multi 6 figures.

And here's the thing I didn't expect:

The stuff that worked for me is working for my clients too.

- The way I told my story. 
- The way I positioned what I did. 
- The way I stopped trying to sound impressive.

That's the thread.

But those are usually the ones worth taking.

Here we are.

Engaged. Moving countries. Getting married in less than a month.

Turns out the only thing she hadn't accounted for was doing all of it at the same time.

Neither had I, to be fair.

Why I left Dubai for a small town in France...

I was running a marketing agency in Dubai which grew pretty quickly.

Team of 10 people with three in full time sales.

From the outside it looked like I was winning. 

But: 

- I was working 14 hour days stuck to my laptop.
- I couldn't take a proper holiday without something breaking.
- I couldn't enjoy dinner without checking my phone every 10 mins.

The breaking point came on a Sunday at the pool.

I was fixing a client issue instead of relaxing with my fiancé Antonia.

I sat there thinking what am I doing this for?!?

So I made a choice most people thought was insane.

I restructured my entire business around lifestyle not hustle.

I built the Digital Bistro Table model.

I've sat down with over 130 millionaires and 2 billionaires on my podcast. 

I can tell you something that nobody wants to hear but everyone needs to know.

The ones who hustle the hardest will admit they're not the happiest. 

And honestly that realisation hit me harder than I expected. 

Because I grew up thinking that if you just work hard enough, grind long enough, sacrifice everything, you'll eventually be happy.

But that's not how it works.

Even Alex Hormozi, the literal king of hustle, sat down with Tony Robbins recently and admitted that maybe he got it wrong. 

He only works so hard because he's never found happiness outside of the workplace. 

His whole philosophy is:

"find something you care about so much you don't mind suffering for" 

And when Tony heard that he just said:

"you don't need to suffer"

Your work is your business. 

Your life is literally the business if you have a business. 

So why would you build something that makes you miserable?! 

Why would you create a prison and call it freedom?? 

Why would you sacrifice the people you love to get there?

My worldview is simple and I'll never apologise for it: lifestyle beats hustle 

- Quality of life
- Time with the people you love
- Freedom to live where you want

That's the real win for me. 

When I share this the right people lean in and the wrong people self-select out.

And tbh that's exactly what I want because I'd rather work with someone who values their life than someone who's trying to escape it.

I don't know who needs to hear this today.

But the piece of content you've been holding off posting because it's not the "optimal time" for engagement?

Post it now. 

Or don't post it at all.

Stop planning content around algorithms.

Stop saving your best ideas for peak posting windows.

Stop letting the fear of bad timing become the reason you never actually say anything.

Stop letting the fear of being judged become the reason you never show up.

Show up because you've got something worth saying.

Not because Tuesday at 8am gets 2% more reach.

Most business coaches teach founders how to scale.

The irony? Many have NEVER scaled a business themselves.

And very few can say what I’m about to say next.

By 22, I had a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and a Master's Degree in Economics.

By 24, I was the Lead Data Analyst for a 9-figure hospitality group in the UK.

Every week I reported directly to the board of directors on performance, opportunities, and strategy.

By 26, I became Product Manager at the world’s largest digital publisher.

We generated 500 million organic monthly views on authoritative written content every single month.

That translated to over $300,000 in profit per day.

By 27, I left my job and built my own podcast into the top 1% of all podcasts globally, interviewing more than 130 millionaires and 2 billionaires.

By 28, I started my own company in a completely different country.

Using LinkedIn and no ads.

Just the same trust-building strategies I had previously implemented inside a billion-dollar business.

We scaled to £50k per month organically before spending a single pound on advertising.

By 29, I had:

Today, at 30, my business generates multi-six figures in profit.

But the real success looks very different from what social media might tell you.

You won’t see me posting Lamborghinis on Instagram.

You won’t see a gold Rolex on my wrist.

Instead you’ll see my $15 Casio watch.

You’ll see weekends judged by how tired my fox-red Labrador is after long walks.

And you’ll see me exploring the world with my partner, Antonia, enjoying the simple things in life.

You’ll also see me doing the work I love.

Speaking with millionaires and billionaires about their expertise…

And translating those insights into practical strategies my clients can actually use.

Because the people I attract are very similar to me.

Founders who want to build something meaningful.

But not at the cost of the life they’re trying to build.

Working less has made me more money.

That sounds crazy in a world obsessed with hustle, doesn’t it?

But after building a business and working with 200+ founders, I’ve seen something most people miss.

Work is about inputs.

And if you don’t think carefully about the inputs you're making, you won’t win.

Now, I think it’s worth saying here, failing is good. 

Taking risks is good.

Moving forward is good.

But working endlessly for the sake of it?

That’s rarely the answer.

In fact, one thing I tell every client on our calls is this:

Without a hobby, this business is unlikely to work.

Sounds strange.

But the founders who build the best businesses usually have something outside of it.

Something that forces them to step away.

For me it’s training, cooking, exploring new places.

These hobbies give me space to think.

Space to process.

Space to see things clearly.

The irony is that when I stopped working 12 hour days, six days a week, the business grew faster.

I’ve realised that the real game isn’t just effort.

It’s where your effort goes.

And that’s why I choose lifestyle over hustle every day.
