If you are a career coach, posting regularly on LinkedIn, yet are unable to get leads, follow this strategy. 

Create content around your client wins. 

→ If you have helped Person A go from unemployed to employed, 
Share the journey on how you did it. 

→ If you have helped Person B, go from making $60k a year to making $150 a year, 
Share the strategies you followed to help get that offer. 

→ If you have helped Person C, find purpose in their career when they were feeling stuck, 
Share how you did that. 

These stories revolve around: 

Real people 
Real struggles 
Real obstacles 
Real transformations 

Hence, your target audience resonates, feels motivated, and establishes trust with you.

This is the easiest way to turn casual followers into paying clients because results, try it!

Three years ago, when I started writing on LinkedIn, I started with the wrong idea and mindset. 

I thought, if I sound preachy and share tips & tricks, people would assume I am an expert. 

But that was a mistake. 

Over the years, after working on multiple profiles, scaling accounts from 0 to 100K, I learned a strong personal brand, one that builds genuine trust, credibility, and brings leads, is about being human first. 

It is about sharing the real, raw, not so perfect behind the scene pictures. 

And here is how I have been doing it for me and my clients: 

1. Build a connection first 

I have always shared my real stories.

Stories of freelancing days, my academic failures, my professional wins and losses, etc. 
I did the same for my clients. 
I brought their stories to the forefront so that their followers know who the real person is. 

When you get candid, your audience doesn't just see you as another creator. 

2. Stories that hit similar emotions 

I put myself in my audience’s shoes, understanding their struggles and failures, and share my own similar experiences.
That relatability creates an emotional connection: “This feels like my story too.”

3. Value first 
Every post must deliver.
I want people to think: "If their posts have so much, imagine how much I will get to learn from their programs/coaching sessions?"

4. End with an encouragement & invitation 

Each post should leave readers feeling, “I learned something today.”
And instead of closing the door, I open it with an invitation to reflect, share, or start a conversation.

Personal branding is about showing up with your true self every day. 
When you do that, you just don't collect followers, you build a loyal audience. 

So next time you post, reflect on:
“Am I just creating a brand, or am I building connections?”

Influencers make big money by making you feel insecure. I have been a victim of it. 

A couple of years back, every influencer I followed made me feel small. 

Their content only talked about how they make multiple six figures at 22. 
And how freelancers like me are getting the entire game wrong. 

It’s a commendable business strategy. 

And so many freelancers fall for it. I did. 

But as a victim of this, I really can’t use others’ insecurities to sell. 

It doesn’t feel right. 

Hence, every time you’ll see me talk about money, I always share what led to the success. 

And I have only started talking about it when I built enough proof. 

So every time you see people with huge claims trying to sell you a course or a service, make sure you do a background check. 

Or follow people who share real strategies. 
Or who shows the real path to hitting that goal with proof. 

If they don’t, just unfollow. 
There are lots of other great accounts to follow and get inspired by!

This strategy will instantly turn your average post into a lead magnet. 

Create controversy, disagreement, or disbelief in the hook 

Some examples: 

→ She rejected an offer from Meta despite making it to the final round
→ My client negotiated an additional $80k, which took her total offer to $300k 
→ Your resume with 15+ experience will be rejected if it doesn’t match the job description 

Such hooks can instantly catch readers’ attention, get you more audience. 

Add proof in the visuals 

→ Add DM screenshots 
→ Offer screenshots 
→ Or anything that backs your claims 

You must earn trust; otherwise, converting clients is impossible. 

Avoid fluffy and preachy content 

We have completely outgrown preachy content. 

Nobody will read posts that start with, “If you are….. you’re doing it wrong.”

Instead, use stories to narrate situations and keep them hooked. 

In 2026, your content needs to be to the point, clear, authentic, and data-backed for it to get results. 

If you are still following what worked in 2024, it’s not going to give you the results you’re expecting.

“This person has been my friend for years, but never once mentioned me on LinkedIn. And now, they recommended me as one of the best creators in the career coaching space.”

A client recently shared this during one of our strategy calls. 

When he came to me, his only immediate KPI was consistency. 

He had already built a great business for himself, but showing up was his biggest obstacle. 

Fast forward to now, people are not only following and engaging with his content but also are mentioning him as a top creator in the career coaching space. 

It happened because we started creating content with intention.

We identified his USP: He specifically focused on immigrants, had helped over 500 job seekers, and had supported $70M+ in job offers.

Once that was clear, we built his story.

We highlighted what he had overcome:
