This year, I have taken a bold decision to let go of clients worth INR 3 lakhs. 

That decision came after I started working with a few people from a certain niche. 

It gave me clarity on my strength as a LinkedIn branding strategist and all the good things I can offer my clients. 

But that decision also came with many cons. 

I have been trying and failing to build a team for over 6 months. 

1. Every time I hire someone with high hopes to hand over some work, I get disappointed. 

It is so scarce to find good writers, writers who understand the niche, do proper research, and deliver good output.

3. Without a good team, it is extremely hard to scale my business. 

I have been stuck at a specific revenue level for months because I won’t trade off quality for more money. 

Building a business a scaling is difficult.

Three years ago, when I started writing on LinkedIn, I started with the wrong idea and mindset. 

I thought, if I sound preachy and share tips & tricks, people would assume I am an expert. 

But that was a mistake.

1. Build a connection first 

I have always shared my real stories.

Stories of freelancing days, my academic failures, my professional wins and losses, etc.

I brought their stories to the forefront so that their followers know who the real person is. 

When you get candid, your audience doesn't just see you as another creator. 

2. Stories that hit similar emotions 

I put myself in my audience’s shoes, understanding their struggles and failures, and share my own similar experiences.
That relatability creates an emotional connection: “This feels like my story too.”

3. Value first 
Every post must deliver.
I want people to think: "If their posts have so much, imagine how much I will get to learn from their programs/coaching sessions?"

4. End with an encouragement & invitation 

Each post should leave readers feeling, “I learned something today.”
And instead of closing the door, I open it with an invitation to reflect, share, or start a conversation.

Personal branding is about showing up with your true self every day. 
When you do that, you just don't collect followers, you build a loyal audience. 

So next time you post, reflect on:
“Am I just creating a brand, or am I building connections?”

Then, we dig deep. 

We ask: 

1. The backstory (Who was this person or business?)
2. The challenge (What roadblocks were they facing?) 
3. The turning point (What exact strategy or product changed things?)
4. The outcome (What did they achieve, and how is life different now?)

Once we have all that, we turn it into a narrative post that reads like a mini case study but feels human and emotional.

For example, when we’re writing for a career coach, we’ll show how a client went from getting zero interview calls to landing their dream job at Google:

– Their job search journey

– The struggles they faced

– The failures that almost made them quit

– The steps and strategies they implemented

– And finally, the moment they got the offer (with a screenshot for proof).

We also follow a few key principles to make these posts perform:

✅ Story-first, sell later: The reader should feel inspired before they realize they’re being sold to.
✅ Show proof: Screenshots, testimonials, DMs, anything that builds credibility.
✅ Add emotion: Celebrate the win. Show vulnerability, setbacks, and growth.
✅ Make it relatable: The audience should see themselves in the person’s journey.
✅ End with a soft CTA: Something like “If you’re trying to achieve a similar result, here’s where to start.”

The reason this works is they see real transformation stories backed by proof, it makes them automatically associate that credibility with you.

So if you’re struggling with reach or inbound leads, start posting success stories.
It’s social proof in motion.

Sometimes it's my phone, or a lipstick or lipbalm, sometimes my cards, or a clutch.
