↳ top-down targets ≠ bottoms-up reality
↳ “scale faster” is meaningless without repeatability
↳ comparison to outliers breaks good teams
↳ hiring won’t fix a broken motion
↳ partnerships aren’t a shortcut to pipeline
↳ founder-led GTM lasts longer than you think
↳ more activity doesn’t equal more signal
↳ messy data leads to bad decisions
↳ operators feel the cost of vague strategy first
↳ someone has to protect the team from noise

the best founders act as a filter, not a relay.

After years operating inside VC-backed startups, one thing came through loud and clear in my conversation with Stefan Ross (early at Pigment and Celonis):

most GTM pain doesn’t come from execution. 
it comes from misaligned expectations.

another day another Andreessen Horowitz start up role on my plate

an AI-native B2B infrastructure company in the CFO/compliance space is hiring their first on-the-ground AE in Europe

here are some highlights on why this is a good time to join:
• ~30% MoM revenue growth
 •  customers are some of the fastest-scaling global tech companies (Replit)
 • ~40% of inbound already comes from outside the US
 • sales to date has been largely founder-led
 • deep product moat: they’ve spent ~18 months building direct local rails that give them real international coverage

disclaimer: this is for someone who can:
 → take over founder-led deals
 → work in high autonomy remotely within EMEA
 → build the regional motion from zero
 → execute a land-and-expand sales model
 → bring real influence on GTM, pricing, and product feedback

buyers are heads of Finance / controllers / sometimes CFOs.

product is a must for companies to stay compliant

deals are often driven by real risk (e.g. uncovering historical tax exposure).

comp is strong for Europe, equity is meaningful, and if this works, the scope almost certainly grows beyond “individual contributor.”

but this role isn't for everyone:
 • You need to be comfortable with ambiguity
 • You need to sell trust, not hype
 • You need to operate with high autonomy, often async with US leadership

most GTM conversations start with the product.

but that’s not how most deals actually get done.

some of the biggest deals I’ve seen closed:
– without a single demo
– without a deep product walkthrough
– without anyone obsessing over the platform

because buyers aren’t buying software.

they're buying change.

They care about:
↳ what’s broken today
↳ what outcome they can defend internally

here’s the part that’s easy to miss though 👇

if you don’t have attention, you never get to talk about outcomes.

that’s the real GTM shift happening right now.

not better decks. not cleaner messaging.

attention first.
outcomes second.

if you can’t earn attention, nothing else matters.

if you earn it but can’t explain the change you create, neither does your product.
