Deepfakes won’t just trick the naïve — they will erode trust at scale. Institutions, justice systems, brands, creators… everyone becomes vulnerable.

But here’s the paradox: to protect society, we actually need more exposure more detection tools, more awareness, more “immune systems” against synthetic content.

The next decade won’t be about banning AI.

It will be about building resilience.

And ironically, the best way to fight deepfakes… is to understand how they’re made.

At Argil, we’re starting to embrace the “AI-Native team” philosophy.

The role of the engineer is shifting: you manage a fleet of AI agents, operate at the macro layer as much as possible, and only drop down to micro-level work when it’s truly necessary.

There’s inertia in the industry, technical debt, legacy workflows, and people resisting the shift.

But I’m 100% sure that an engineer who keeps working purely at the micro level will be completely obsolete soon.
