Spotify crashed our Christmas event this year.
And so did someone else.

Last week, our team got together for our Pigsmas Christmas event, and this year was an extra special one.

That’s because we welcomed a brand new team member, Can Kalin, who actually had his very first day with us that day.

Naturally, we pulled out all the stops to celebrate his arrival and make our Christmas event a good one for the team.

We kicked the day off with a brunch in our office, prepared by Japanese chef Yumi. 

Later, we focused on some work stuff, where I gave the team a presentation on Piggyback’s three-year vision and some of our future goals.

After, we got into the fun part as the team ran their own workshops: one guessing which songs were trending on TikTok, and another all about astrology, where they we found out where each of us sits on the astrology spectrum.

Halfway through the day, we briefly had to step back into work-mode when Spotify Wrapped suddenly (and also sort of expectedly) dropped.

(But in true Piggyback fashion, we rallied and got one out for our clients in exactly 28 minutes... Impressive, I know.)

We then ended our busy day with a three course vegan dinner in a restaurant with a very fitting Piggy backdrop, which we, of course, chose because of it.

A big thank you to the entire Piggyback team and of course, for all your work this year. I’m so excited to start the new year with all of you, and with our new addition to our team!

I had a very important conversation yesterday... Here's what it was all about:

Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of joining Anna Suznjevic from Important Conversation (see what I did at the beginning there) on stage at Soho House Berlin, where we explored the power of relationships and co-creation.

(And this event ended up being the perfect example of exactly that!)

Over the evening, we talked about: 
– Why human consultants still matter in the age of AI, especially when advising the C-level 
– What makes a great briefing, and why the best ones solve one specific problem 
– How consultants differ from coaches 
– My own experience and journey, including the many pivots that led to the north star we now follow at Piggyback 

Massive thank you to Anna for having me and for being such a great host, and thanks to Soho House for the wonderful hospitality. I had such a great time!

One of the bravest things to do when the world is on fire is this:
Grow your business.

Why are we still doing it?

Because there are still genuinely hundreds of companies across Germany (and Europe) that genuinely need our help.

When I look at the social media presence of so many brands, there is a huge amount of opportunity just sitting there, untouched.

So many brands have great products, strong teams, and a lot of potential, but they are completely lost in the noise when it comes to social.

They don’t really understand their audience, their content lacks strategy, and their storytelling is flat.

And that’s exactly why we’re still growing, even when conditions around us aren’t perfect.

Growth for us is not about headcount for the sake of headcount (especially not in this climate).

It is about increasing our ability to solve real problems for real companies who need support, even if they don’t realise it yet.

Tough markets don’t mean all the opportunities are gone.

They just make it clearer who is willing to step up.

A couple of weeks ago I turned my life upside down.

Literally 🙃

I left everyone & everything I know and love in the UK and moved to SYDNEY 🇦🇺

I’ve always loved the saying:
“If you risk nothing, you risk everything”

But I find it extremely hard to live by. 

I’m a hermit at heart. 
I LOVE my comfort zone. 
So taking risks isn’t natural for me.

But I’m hoping it’ll all pay off in the form of
new friends, a new lease of life & new experiences.

So, if you’ve been thinking about taking a risk
but you’re scared it won’t work out…

This is your sign to feel the fear & do it anyway ☺️

PS. Sorry for ghosting, there’s been a lot going on in my little brain lately.

If you want to grow on LinkedIn in 2026 stop doing this 🛑 👇🏼

Constantly checking your follower count.

I’m not saying followers aren't important.

Having a following helps with:

🩷 Visibility
🩷 Credibility
🩷 Opportunities

BUT it’s not something you should fixate on.

Instead focus on these things:

1. Figuring out your target audience
2. Creating GREAT content for them
3. Finding your voice, tone & style
4. Engaging with your followers
5. Engaging with other creators
6. Showing up consistently
7. Testing and learning
8. Having fun!!!!

If you do all the above ⬆️
the growth will follow.

No need to stress about it.

I posted on LinkedIn every day for over a year.
Reached 20k followers, had great engagement…

And then I randomly stopped.

Why???

I used to post because I really loved it.
I loved sharing my experiences.
I loved having convos in the comments.

But 6 months ago I started DREADING being on LinkedIn.

I’d sit down to write and feel sick.
I was like: "why am I doing this???"
I felt like such a cringey loser suddenly 😂

I realised I needed a break. I felt so burned out and uninspired.

My 1 week break turned into 6 months…
And here we are.

I finally feel ready to come back but
I’m trying to find the balance of:

A) sharing what I’m up to, my thoughts and experiences with the goal of helping people in similar situations to me

while

B) not icking myself out or putting so much pressure on myself that I hate doing this again

I’m not sure how it’s going to work but if you’ve stuck with me while I’ve been in ghost mode…

Everyone on LinkedIn sounds the same.
Actually, everyone on every platform sounds the same.

(To me - and I include myself in this btw) 😵‍💫 

I partly blame it on AI
(can we pleeease stop using ChatGPT to do everything for us??)

But I also blame our need to please.
We want to please our followers,
we want to please the algorithm.

It’s totally understandable:
We’re posting to get engagement, right?
No one’s posting & hoping their post gets zero likes.

➡️ But the content I enjoy the most is the content that was clearly created for the love of creating ⬅️ 

The greatest books, films, works of art etc. weren’t created to please some ever-changing algorithm. Yes, they’re created with an aim of being viewed but I think the difference is that’s not the creator’s ONLY aim.

Whereas on social media I think we’re so consumed by getting as many views as possible. We forget to actually enjoy the process of creating. So we create samey content for the same samey algorithm.

Anyway this isn’t meant to be a negative rant. I know we kind of have to follow a formula to get seen…

But I guess what I’m trying to say is:

🩷 Create what you actually ENJOY creating
🩷 Share your real, honest, original thoughts
🩷 Don’t try to copy everyone else

If you consistently post GOOD content,
you will reach the right people
(no matter what the algorithm’s doing).
