A biotech research lab led by Prof. Shirley Tang, interested in creating devices and systems using nanomaterials, primarily for biomedical applications. I produced publication-grade research manuscripts and grant proposals. I also instructed graduate students and post-docs how to write manuscripts by teaching structure, content, flow, data presentation, etc.

A biotech research laboratory led by Prof. Juewen Liu (>23,000 citations; h-index=72), interested in using DNA and lipids to build new biopolymers, nanoscale materials, and devices. Created liposome-metal oxide nanoparticle conjugates for biomedical applications (e.g. bio-sensing, cell imaging, drug delivery)

A publicly traded (NASDAQ: FLDM) biotech company with 500+ employees. I worked in the Canadian branch that develops and manufactures proprietary mass cytometry instruments. Launched Helios for tissue proteomic analysis.

I started working in DVS Sciences Inc., a biotech company that designed and manufactured mass cytometers for proteomics. Using stable lanthanide isotopes instead of fluorophores, we reduced spectral overlap and increased the number of simultaneously detected biomarkers. The company launched CyTOF2 for single-cell analysis, and was acquired for $200M by Fluidigm Corp.

Harvard Medical School

A biotech research lab led by Prof. Ali Khademhosseini (>61,000 citations; h-index=128), interested in developing micro- and nano-scale biomaterials (e.g., hydrogels) to control cellular behaviour for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Relocated to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2017.
