📱 2007 - Built my first app for Nokia phones in high-school.
🚀 2011 - Launched my first startup: local places & events app.
💰 2018 - Raised VC money and participated in 2 startup accelerators.
🛠️ 2018 - Joined Toptal as Mobile Apps Engineer and built apps for 10 clients.
📈 2019 - Built an app portfolio that brought $108,596 in revenue with 214K users.
👥 2022 - Founded an app agency (3 devs, 1 designer, 1 QA). Amazing, but stressful.
👉 2024 - Shut down the agency in April, now helping app founders make more money.

This year McDonald's and Coke decided to be "trendy" and make AI-generated ads.
Intermarche (a French supermarket chain with competent marketers) decided to do the opposite.

Make an animated ad. Using HUMAN screenwriters, HUMAN animators, and HUMAN voice actors.

Wild right?

But that's not the best bit.

Because this ad about a wolf who decides to be a good neighbor by becoming vegetarian was seen 600 million times worldwide.

600 MILLION!

For an AD.

An ad that cost less than 1 million euros to produce.

An ad that was seen more than 600 million times in 1 week. 

An ad that's unwittingly launched a new product for Intermarche.

Plush wolves.



PS - perfect example of how doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing is a sound strategy.
