I’ve finished the book: Building AI Agents with LLMs, RAG, and Knowledge Graphs. Really strong book to get a holistic view on how to build agents.

Here are some ideas I found interesting:

𝐇𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠:
Problem: If there are too many documents or they are too long, RAG would struggle with precision (chunks are misaligned) or recall (find all relevant chunks).
Solution: We generate a summary of each document and index it with the chunks. At query time, first search over the summaries, and then retrieve the relevant chunks.

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐑𝐀𝐆:
Problem: The query is too complex.
Solution: Use a multi-step process to critique and reflect on the output.

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐑𝐀𝐆:
Problem: Traditional RAG fails to capture relationships and struggles with redundant information.
Solution: Use a Knowledge Graph, composed as tripplets of entity-relation-entity, as a controlled context to increase relevance.

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝐆𝐨𝐓):
Problem: The query is too complex.
Solution: Use multiple reasoning steps in graph form to explore alternative answers and verify the final output.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐗𝐑𝐋):
Problem: It’s not easy to understand the agent's behavior in an RL setting.
Solution: Use an LLM as a policy interpreter to explain the agent’s behavior.

• Revolutionised customer interactions at Cubigo by developing a dynamic chatbot solution. Leveraged Pinecone as a vector database, Streamlit for frontend, and Azure functions with Python for backend, creating a seamless platform for residents and staff to inquire about residents' preferences, setting a new standard in eldercare management.
• Enhanced proposal creation efficiency at Moore Grants by implementing an intelligent chatbot that harmonises writing styles and taps into a vast knowledge base. Empowered the team of scientists to craft compelling proposals for clients by harnessing the same advanced technology stack as used at Cubigo.
• Transformed Dutch document queries at Liantis with a user-friendly chatbot integrating Azure Cognitive Search, streamlining legal department access to vital information.
• Drove a forecasting project at Aquafin using Databricks, PySpark, Pandas, Bokeh, and Databricks to predict sludge buffer values based on weather correlations, advancing wastewater management and optimizing plant operations.

• Developed a CNN with PyTorch to classify images of end products as defective/non-defective for a manufacturing client, achieving high accuracy and contributing to improved manufacturing processes. This involved using PyTorch to build and train a convolutional neural network (CNN) model that could accurately classify images of end product as either defective or non-defective.
• Developed an end-to-end training recommendation system using Python and LightFM that reduced the L&D team's time spent on sending training suggestions to new joiners by 50%, resulting in a more efficient onboarding process and better training outcomes. 
• Built a real estate prediction model using GBDT with LightGBM that improved the accuracy of property value predictions by 20%, enabling internal stakeholders to make more informed investment decisions.
• Acquired deep knowledge of Azure Machine Learning Service, enabling expertise in providing guidance and support to both technical and non-technical teams, leading to the successful implementation of 100% of all future ML projects.
• Trained over 100 attendees from diverse technical and non-technical backgrounds in the internal AI Bootcamp, with a focus on AI, ML, Azure Machine Learning Pipelines, Notebooks, Azure AutoML, Python coding, and evaluation metrics. Resulting in a 90% satisfaction rate as measured by post-training evaluations.
• Implemented ML Ops Guidelines using Azure DevOps to streamline project execution and deliver high-quality results, as demonstrated by the successful execution of  data science end to end projects.
• Accomplished expert-level support during the internal AI Bootcamp, effectively addressing 100% of attendee queries related to Azure ML, Data Science, ML, and Python, leading to a successful and informative event.
