RLG Informática

RLG is a provider of advanced educational technology tools and products, and my role consists of detecting areas for improvement within the Learning Management System (LMS) and E-commerce features of overall product offering. Based on insights from acquired data, I execute initiatives to improve performance and efficiency. 

Additionally, I also develop innovative features to support RLG clients, i.e. educational institutions, allowing them to grow their businesses and provide the best learning environment to their students.

My activities also include: 

☛ Maintaining and developing the LMS source code in Java / MySQL.

☛ Supporting existing clients (courses) and facilitating the on-boarding of new clients into the platform.

Highlights: 

☑ Delivering technological solutions for more than 450,000 students, both for online and on-campus classes.

☑ Analytical analysis; designed a student segmentation by course, based on involvement, financial and time investment, etc., allowing lecturers to optimize their approach to different students.

☑ Fraud detection; conducted a fraud detection analysis in online transactions, identifying common characteristics of fake students attending courses for piracy purposes.

Technology and Innovation Partner

INTELLAM

Intellam is a US IT Consultancy specializing in CRM, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Digital Marketing, and other related fields. In this project-based relationship, I provided technical and thought leadership for a nation-wide lawn care industry project, and reported directly to the CEO.

I have built a classification system for a franchisor with over 500 independent units across the US, and introduced dashboards to get better visual insights from sales, marketing and operations combined.

Highlights include:

☑ Building a classification system for franchise rankings based on their performance and regional potential.

☑ Conducting research to detect the most significant factors that add to franchise success, allowing others to utilize the same pattern.

☑ Generating a data-driven annual conference presentation based on insights extracted from the project.

Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Consultant

Druid

Druid is a technology company specialized in developing network integration solutions for telecommunications providers, and the company the bought out my startup – Dash. 

I was in charge of migrating legacy modules from an old and outdated system, simplifying a complex data structure, and implementing synchronization solutions to the new structure. 

Highlights include:

☑ Designing and constructing a new data model for one of the biggest health insurance plans in Brazil, streamlining synchronization of old and updated data into usable systems.

☑ Reducing the complexity of the data model, from 8,000 database tables to less than 500.

☑ Designing a model that support new regulatory rules and customer-oriented approach, which was previously not possible.

☑ Improved search and data navigation for 8000+ labels, by performing data overhaul and simplifying representation of customers and companies, without any information loss.

Technical Sales Executive and Data Consultant

Telefônica Brasil

While working for one of the largest phone operators and network providers in the world, I oversaw strategic aspects of the network-engineering department, including acquisition management and expenditure control. I also planned a managed a $250 million department budget. 

My role consisted of driving planning activities, incorporating network expansion, executing regulatory and mandatory improvements, and introducing new services platforms.

Highlights include:

☑ Reducing expenditure leftovers YOY through developing and maintaining strong relationships with managers and suppliers, thus creating a cohesive and productive team within a deadline-driven environment.

☑ Applying predictive models to control the data generated by contracts in order to project the growth of the network infrastructure.

☑ Reducing planned-but-not-spent funds to near zero through optimizing budget planning with predictive models; designed a solution to merge legal, suppliers and expenditure data from many different systems and thousands of projects, and used past data to predict new investments.

Network Planning Strategist

During my first tenure at Druid, following the merger of Dash, I have been in charge of consulting and designing solutions for the company's key accounts.

Highlights include:

☑ Risk Analysis for Credit Scoring solution for Bradesco, the second largest private bank in Brazil; I have designed a flexible and customizable solution that solved problems of scale and maintaining parameters, using models for customer scoring and other relevant geodemographic parameters.
 
☑ Closing a commercial deal with the Chilean Minister of Culture for "Fondos de Concurso" contest, organized by Chilean Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage.

Technical Sales Executive

Dash TI

I have built the Dash TI startup from scratch and without any investment, and managed and oversaw all aspects of this custom software development company, including recruiting, accounting decisions and strategic development. 

Highlights include:

☑ Growing the company to 30 employees and $2 million in revenue, and successfully exiting after 6 years.

☑ Representing the company in top-level meetings with large clients and partners from Telecommunications, Insurance & Financial, and Media & Entertainment industries.

☑ Forming a young and bright team, focusing on diversity and equal opportunities.

☑ Creating a spin-off company for mobile development that raised money for government agencies to build a mobile advertising platform.

☑ Establishing Brazil's local partnership with OpenText, developing services using their ECM suite.

Founder & CEO

During my first tenure at Telefonica (former Vivo), I led efforts in developing a solution for CRM data extraction to build business and regulatory reports.

Highlights include:

☑ Creating a user-centric and adaptive reporting solution for CRM reports, allowing business users to build reports optimized for their needs, from the 60+ million-customer base, increasing the velocity and producing new insights for company leadership.

☑ Designing an adaptive solution, allowing the users themselves to dynamically select fields, aggregations, filters and create their own views. The initial requirements demanded almost 100 different reports output.

☑ The project gathered data from different contact channels (IVR, website, and SMS) between customers and the carrier, being extremely sensitive in matters of performance and data volume.

Database Specialist

Globo.com

Globo.com is a technology/internet-based branch of TV Globo, one of the biggest media groups in the world. I have led the development team and agencies that worked on marketing campaigns and temporary websites for important occasions (holidays, sports events, soap operas, etc.).

I have developed a robust technological framework, allowing for tracing down the same user across different promotions, providing detailed reports of enrollments, and exploring patterns and hypothesizing about user behaviors to give insights to the marketing teams.
Highlights include: 

☑ Building the 2002 World Cup interactive tools advertised on the TV broadcast of the matches, where users were able to guess scores to win prizes, vote for best/worst players in the pitch and play trivia games with more than 200.000 unique visitors.

☑ Leveling up projects in terms of prizes due to the more optimized technological framework and accompanying popularity with consumers. Prizes went from $5K to $100K+ after revamps.

I am a Data Science Professional and a Lecturer with 23 years of corporate and entrepreneurship experience under the belt, and projects encompassing data from up to 60 million people from around the globe. 

Contributing to strategic goals of industry leaders such as Grupo Globo and Telefonica, as well as to startups requiring innovative and creative approach, allowed me to develop a rather unique and versatile skill-set, given the diverse nature of those businesses.
