My journey to where I am today brought with it one significant lesson:

When we feel disconnected, stuck or unfulfilled, we need to stop looking to external sources for direction—we need to look inward to find our way forward.

At first, I just felt like something was missing.

Maybe you've felt this way, too…

I'd accomplished so much.
Titles, recognition and salary—check.
Personal life and relationships—check (for the most part).

But then, this nagging feeling popped up. 
"Is this all there is?"

Maybe it's age. 
Maybe it's the high-achiever in me.
Whatever the source of the question, there it was.

Here's what I was longing for...
-Feeling confident to just be myself and release the need for external validation. 
-Enjoying the moments rather than overthinking the past or worrying about the future.
-Building something that's mine, gives me autonomy and brings more purpose into my life.

What helped me to start creating the life and career I want didn't come from other people. 
It came from tuning out the noise and trusting my intuition.
It came from me letting go of impossible standards.

Part of my journey has been in tandem with my clients' journeys.
I noticed a pattern when I started coaching more and more women.
I started to hear my stories and struggles echoed in my clients' experiences.

As high-achieving women, we—
-Seek answers, guidance and direction outside of ourselves.
-Struggle with perfectionism, overthinking and self-doubt, which holds us back.
-Strive to speak up and be true to ourselves and yet, we feel torn and put others first.

Having felt the freedom and sense of empowerment in overcoming these challenges a bit more each day, I've found purpose in helping other women do the same.

Here are just a few shifts my clients have made with me by their side:
-Moving family back to a state she loved, to be with friends and family after feeling stuck for 13 years
-Finally speaking up with ease in conversations and meetings without the constant second-guessing 
-Starting a consulting business to move towards the next chapter of her career
-Crushing it as a first-time guest speaker at a conference
-Asking for and receiving a 30% increase in comp

Sr. Director, Global GTM Strategy, Operations & Enablement

I have the pleasure of leading a team to enable our customer-facing roles to successfully execute our GTM strategy and to drive customer success and self-sufficiency to collectively provide an exceptional experience for our customers. I also oversee our business development and sales operations strategy and functions.

Not having kids was a choice I made. But that doesn't remove feelings of "mother's" guilt or stress from juggling it all with my fur-babies.

I'm running on 3.5 hours of sleep and fumes.

Penny had a sudden onset of an upper respiratory infection yesterday. 

I don't think I've ever heard a human coughing and hacking like this...

Let alone an 8 month old pup.

Apparently, kennel cough or whatever variant of it this is, is pretty awful this year.

Don't let the batman symbol on her chest fool you.

She's a champ, but Penny's struggling.

And so am I.

When she was coughing or throwing up, I felt wrecked, wishing I could make it better. 

When she wasn't coughing or wheezing, I laid in bed awake, worrying. 

Is she okay? 
Is she breathing?

Here's the thing...

Aside from posts about a beloved pet passing, I've never come across a post about something like this.

A post about the struggles of being a pet parent.

So I want to share this to help normalize it.

Meet Penny, our 3rd pit bull mix rescue! She's about 8 months old and full of sass! Most of all, she's a sweet dog who loves her big sis, Abby.

We wanted a 2nd dog to help our ~6 yo pup, Abby, get more active.
We were worried it wouldn't work out.

Miss Abby had gotten used to being the only pup and wasn't loving sharing.
Months of meeting shelter dogs and meet & greets didn't pan out.
We were told to avoid getting another bully bread.

Then we met Penny.
They ran around the backyard like goofballs.
And she stole all our hearts, Abby's included!

We've had an exhausting three weeks trying to get Penny acclimated. 

But the excitement we see from Abby to play with her sis,
And the cuddling in the back seat during car rides makes it all worthwhile!!

Penny starts training tomorrow.
She's already been a great student.
That's what I want more people to understand.

Pit bulls are incredible. 
They're playful, loving, and hilarious. 
They are working dogs and are exceptional with the right training.

Support your local shelters and adopt! 
Many are pit bull mixes. 
Give them a chance!
