Contract Role to manage key client relationships during The Smith Family’s divestment process.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders e.g. warehouse, production planning, finance 
• Technical-based sales of Non-Woven fabrics.
• Complete monthly forecast and review to liaise with the Operations team to ensure order demands could be met.

• Cleared all slow-moving and obsolete stock from the warehouse, increasing sales by $95K.

• Escalated calls, ensured achievement of KPIs, 
• Mentored team for growth and development and manage conflicting priorities.

• Led cross-functional teams to develop and implement Service Level Agreements throughout the Supply  Chain, which improved on-time deliveries by 9%.

Hot take: If your LinkedIn strategy falls apart the moment an employee leaves, it was never a strategy to begin with. You just borrowed their brand.

Everyone talks about building employee personal brands because they “get more reach than Company Pages”.  Yes, it's true they do get more reach. 

They’re powerful. They matter. They humanise your business.

But here’s what no one wants to say out loud:

Gen Z makes up 65% of LinkedIn members. It is this generation that businesses rely on to amplify their brands. 

But Gen Z now averages around one year in a role, and 1 in 3 plan to change jobs in the next 12 months. (no judgement)

With that level of churn, building your entire visibility on individual profiles is… unstable at best.

Your Company Page is the brand asset you own.
Your employees are the amplifiers - not the foundation.

Here’s the twist people forget: a strong Company Page is what attracts the next wave of great employees in the first place.

How to Fix Your LinkedIn Conversions: The Real Reasons Your Content Isn’t Working

Dare to be different.

Or not. But here's what happens when you don't..

There's the obvious - you blend in with competitors. I see that all the time when I'm doing Page Audit & Strategy sessions with clients. 

Remove the logo, and everyone still looks the same and sounds the same. 

Being professional ✅
Blending into obscurity ✅

But Marketers, there is another angle for you to consider that's not so obvious. 

That nagging voice inside you that knows what you are doing won't work, doesn't go away. The job you once found fulfilling now feels more like an empty void. 

Because deep down, you know the truth.

Safe content isn’t strategic. It’s self-sabotage dressed up as professionalism.

The longer you play small, the further you drift from the impact you could be making.

If you want results, you can’t hide behind what’s “industry standard”.

You have to lead. Experiment. Put your own stamp on things.

Dare to be different. 😀

Your audience, your brand and your career will thank you for it.

How could I offer training and done-for-you LinkedIn services if I fundamentally didn't believe they would work for my clients?

There is no way that I could lie to their face and say follow my process, it works with a disclaimer of **only if you buy the engagement and followers**. 

I don't pretend that with clients, LinkedIn for business growth will always be easy. It's not. 

Nor will I overpromise the types of results they can expect or the timelines in which they will occur. I know I've missed out on opportunities because of this, but those potential clients weren't the right fit to work with me. 

I am 100% confident in my G.R.O.W.T.H framework, and other LinkedIn training programs will set clients up for success if they do the work.

Having tunnel vision to serve your customer with your LinkedIn Marketing is a skill we all need to practice. 

I see it with Company Pages that fail, as they constantly focus only on the brand. 

I see it with individuals who get sidetracked by trending content, algorithm reports and the noise LinkedIn sends our way, like ads and suggested posts.

Know Thy Customer for me is not getting ChatGPT to create an ICP profile in a few seconds; you give it attention for 4 minutes and 22 seconds, and then forget about it as the next distraction comes in. 

It's about real conversations that happen with customers. 

Maybe the marketing team have the opportunity to speak directly, maybe it's social listening, or maybe you are leveraging your customer-facing colleagues.

Narrow down your customer and solve their biggest problem, and as Sarra Richmond says - CHING 💰💰💰💰

HR Operations is one of the most important & central hubs to any business-whatever name you call it & wherever it is located. In my experience, Payroll is generally located in either the Human Resources group or the Finance group.

Payroll is essentially like a series of fortnightly projects in a rolling roadmap of customer satisfaction and stakeholder management. It's a disruptive and agile environment (some would say controlled chaos).

In the last twelve years I have only once encountered a person who deliberately set out to be a Payroll professional. There it is. Right out in the open. I am an accidental Payroll type. I have it from my first Group Payroll Manager that “You either have that thing, or you don’t. And you have it. It can’t be taught.” (thank you Linda).

My manager in the previous pivot role (post leaving Tertiary studies again) put my name forward for a Payroll Project because I was “Systems-minded”. I have to admit-I had no real idea what she meant at the time, but she was absolutely correct; I AM systems-minded.

If you think about Human Resources and Payroll at any level of the game, it won’t take long to conclude that whether it is systems of work, systems of workflow, people workflow channels, channelling the right people to the right roles of work & making sure that the right money goes to the right people from the right bucket to the right bank (& that those people and flows are all subject to the appropriate checks-and-balances)—it’s all about systems-mindedness.

Happening to be good with people & not too bad with numbers is a definite plus; but it’s the finer things like having a nose for the awry & an inbuilt compass for the true north of where things should be going to (or coming from) that can be honed but not taught.

HR Operations Officer, Payroll - People and Culture - Jurisdiction Services

Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria

Businesses run on projects, performance and learning, not just payroll alone.

In this Project role (Human Capital Management) as part of the greater Learning and Development team, I maintained, configured, branded and ensured the integrity of the performance development and learning management system data, records and portals for all relevant entities for creating and accessing data-analytics. 

Internally branded as Nexus, the HCM platform/product was the Cornerstone OnDemand cloud-based talent management system (SaaS).

I supported the Learning and Performance Manager in overseeing the Service Desk function and coordination of the performance management cycle and rolling out identified priorities relating to strategic use of the Nexus application. User Acceptance Testing was always a live issue, but not always issued in the Live environment, if this matters to you, you will understand.

I initiated direct Web Content Management within the team and was both a content producer and approver.

Training in Procurement and Project Management during my time in this role assisted me in providing support desk and technical support functions with the team, and supporting the Nexus manager in vendor and web-content management, inquiry resolutions and responses to all levels via provision of guidance in supporting training delivery to Departmental (and adjunct Bodies and Authorities) staff (10,000+).

Learning and Performance Officer (HCM); People & Culture

This operations role afforded the opportunity for me to refresh my exposure in liaising with hiring managers and relevant stakeholders to craft advertising campaigns (specifically Regional Corrections) and to design layouts, application questionnaires and position descriptions. It also introduced the use of Oracle for invoice generation and management, with the associated negotiation/escalation to maintain costing accuracy including use of correct Zoomlink (advertising costing) codes.

My generalist abilities remained strongly in use for the provision of relevant and accurate advice to stakeholders of all levels across the Department and related entities in the day-to-day recruitment administration and maintenance of efficient and effective processes and e-recruitment ATS/CRM data integrity.

Recruitment Operations Officer, People & Culture

Magistrates’ Court of Victoria

In this (my first government) generalist role I provided consultancy advice and assistance regarding employment conditions, recruitment, procedural, payroll and superannuation queries. The role also encompassed OHS and Work Cover (including return to work coordination), performance management and development, reporting and other general people management matters to stakeholders of all levels.

I contributed to the development and implementation of people management procedures and processes through providing advice and input, and participated in and took responsibility for people management and payroll related projects where required. Procedural investigations and the delivery of ad-hoc training and support to administrative assistants in regional and metropolitan locations became part of my duties in relation to providing whole of Business Unit support in the use of the Department's Performance Development and HRM systems.

Of Note:
* I facilitated in the change of platform for Performance/Learning management for the court as super administrator and Subject Matter Expert
* I Certified as both a Return to Work Coordinator and Occupational Health & Safety representative
* Upon announcement of the Sustainable Government Initiative, I assisted the CEO of MCV and liaised with the relevant Dept. of Treasury & Finance officer (in the absence of all senior HR staff) in relation to producing and verifying Establishment data for the business unit

(Generalist) Human Resources Officer, People & Culture

Service Stream Solutions Pty Ltd

In this newly created & tailored role I Liaised collaboratively with the local HR Advisor, Consultant and specialist recruitment team in ensuring the efficient and accurate maintenance of HR and recruitment records, processes and administration of records and documentation in compliance with pertinent employment instruments. Following a Human Resources Business Partnering model, this included providing day-to-day guidance & support to all levels of staff (from the Executive General Managers to new arrivals) in following the parent company's HR & Payroll requirements, policies and procedures.

I was the first point of contact for general HR & Payroll related queries and had periodic oversight of permanent and casual HR staff, taking an active role in delivering induction and training programs as well as participating in external and internal recruitment processes and interviews.

Of note:
I assisted with managing the delivery of redundancy processes for 400+ staff and then negotiated my own departure.

(Generalist) Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator

This was a true generalist Human Resources role coordinating and ensuring service provision from local and head office locations with dual lines of reporting (local HR and corporate Payroll). It captured delivery of end-to-end payroll, end-to-end recruitment, induction and training activities for new and existing employees, assisting with and overseeing the implementation of any processes, procedures or projects which had an impact on HR/Payroll for a subsidiary business entity.

Of note:
* I took an active role in informing and organising negotiation sessions in relation to transitioning to a new instrument of employment and liaising with the Union
* I had occasional oversight of permanent and casual HR staff according to business requirements
* On the departure of the Senior HR Payroll officer, this role acquired full responsibility for the Service Stream Solutions Payroll and HRIS data management and contributions to monthly Executive reporting

(Generalist) Human Resources & Payroll Officer

Internal promotion to a full-time Human Resources position .

This was a Human Resources position primarily focused upon the processing of time & attendance submissions, application and interpretation of the Instruments of Employment and company policies
     * Maintain award data and ensure wages payments comply with awards, Office of the Employment           
     * Advocate arbitrated decisions and consent agreements
     * Process fortnightly payment of wages and salaries
     * Update and maintain accurate employee Master File records
     * Prompt response and resolution of employee queries
     * Plan and implement all payroll changes in relation to new and amended industrial instruments

This role also branched into dispute resolution responsibilities for the entire Call Centre Operations area (based upon the successful impact of the prior project and stakeholder relationships) and involved participation in Induction and toolbox sessions across the business units.

Payroll Coding and Queries Officer (HR)

Multiple campaign involvement as a Customer Contact Officer in a large outsourced Call Centre Services environment using seven applications to deliver service:
* Account care 
* Customer support
* Retail agent support
* Technical advice
* Subject Matter Expert
Achieved consultative SME within 3 months of commencement, and involvement with projects progressed to time and attendance coding and payroll query logging as a unique opportunity. The improvement in both service delivery and in the perception of the service itself led to a new opportunity within the company support services.

Working along-side the CEO of this Start Up to further develop and implement client sourcing and retention methodologies and to craft, review and target contact centre scripts and website content for approaching the American Leads market.

Client Liaison Officer - Operations Management

Start Up business venture wherein I bore sole responsibility for Human Resources/Personnel functions including:
* Developed and implemented staffing & recruitment practices and procedures
* Assembled a set of Award compliant contracts, offer letters and a general suite of employment related policies and forms
* Hired and managed call-centre staff

Personnel Manager (business administration)

Partnership Catering Services Pty Ltd

In this role I managed 12-35 casual, part-time and full-time employees spanning multiple fixed locations and 8 vehicular distribution rounds with the purpose of delivering catering services for the City of Yarra Aged & Disability Services (also successfully re-tendering). 

I managed all regular and prognostic ordering/purchasing/invoicing/goods inwards and associated records management and the central collection and reconciliation of cash and debt information, along with daily cash deposits with the Council cashier services.

Some specifics:
* Services and staff team management to drive satisfactorily meeting our contracted service levels 
* Interviewing and making recruitment decisions to meet service needs and to manage turnover
* Oversight and ordering of all food, hospitality and office requirements and supplies
* Physical and electronic inventory management
* Creation and maintenance of training records, skills matrices and staff/customer databases
* I maintained the Sharikat Khoo software (with the occasional assisted ad-hoc platform rebuild) 
* I attended monthly Contract meetings and supplied highly detailed service reports to Council
* I delivered local interviewing, hiring, disciplinary measures (including dismissal), OHS and payroll adjunct functions as the on-site manager
* I was directly responsible for the implementation, oversight and day to day management of the Food Safety Plan, practices and compliance. This involved consulting regularly with our own auditor, running training workshops and engaging positively with the local Environmental Health Officers
* I had positive and regular relations with the local Union Delegate and the Area Representative of the Liquor, Hospitality & Miscellaneous Workers Union (now United Voice)

Food Services Manager

I managed 6-8 employees in delivering catering services (successfully re-contracting tender) in a 60 bed nursing home along with all purchasing/invoicing/goods inwards and regular requirements. I was responsible for the implementation, oversight and day to day management of staff, stock and equipment inventory management, internal auditing and management of the Food Safety Plan, compliance practices and liaising regularly with our own auditor and the LGA Environmental Health Officers. Responsibility lay with me for all local leadership, interviewing, hiring, disciplinary measures and payroll adjunct functions as the onsite manager.

Of note:
* I took part in the negotiation of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement as the new instrument of employment
* I was approached directly by the General Manager to take over the management of another catering contract after the sudden departure of the previous site manager
