I’ve sold everything from cars to SaaS to startups. The lesson was always the same: people don’t buy because they understand you. They buy because you understand them.

That belief led me to co-found Novacy, a behavioral intelligence platform that helped B2B sales teams read the entire room, not just the speaker. In three years, we grew from an idea to acquisition by Lusha, with the mission of making conversational intelligence accessible to millions worldwide ￼.

Before founding, I spent a decade in sales leadership. From running national car sales teams to closing enterprise SaaS at Oracle ￼, I’ve seen every flavor of selling. What’s constant: no pain, no sale￼.

Today, I focus on two things:

	1.	Scaling sales teams by training them to give a damn: uncover real pains, focus on meaningful problems, and build the kind of trust that drives consistent wins

	2.	Giving back. Working with founders and early-stage teams on sales and GTM, turning bold ideas into repeatable growth.

I’m a husband, father of two, and a lifelong believer that the hardest problems are solved by listening better, not talking louder.

Early founders love to believe that if the product is good, the story will take care of itself. I believed that for a long time.

Investors don’t invest in ideas. They invest in patterns they’ve already seen work.
They’re not asking, “Is this interesting?” They’re asking, “Does this future feel unavoidable?”

If your pitch doesn’t make it obvious why this company must exist in five years, you’re not pitching a venture backed business.

The best founders I’ve met don’t talk about revolution. They talk about one specific improvement.
Twenty percent faster.
Thirty percent cheaper.

Then they explain the root cause.
Then they show receipts.

And come on... If you can’t name the single metric that would completely break your company if it moves the wrong way, you don’t actually know what you’re building yet.

Try this exercise.
Open your deck and delete every slide that’s there to impress.
Keep only the ones that make the outcome feel inevitable.

That’s the line between a story people nod at and a story people fund.

Quitting isn't necessary for losers.


Entrepreneurs and employees are not judged by how long they stick around.
They are judged by what they actually get done, and by how fast they notice when something is broken.

A wrong business model,
a bad market,
or momentum that is already gone,
and actually have the courage to adapt or move on.

The least successful people do the opposite, and stay.
They wait, and hide behind grit instead of making a call.

We love celebrating preseverance.
We don't talk enough about when it turns into denial.

Most people don't fail because they quit.
They fail because they wait for clarity that never shows up.
And the winners I know don't have better answers, they're just more comfortable acting without them.

So stop asking "What if I'm wrong?
Ask the harder question: "What if staying is the mistake?"

Work on your disqualify first approach, it will make you a winner.

Your company might be worth more than you think.
Or much less. And it has nothing to do with revenue.

Most founders obsess over metrics when it comes to acquisitions.
And to be fair, that’s not entirely wrong.
Numbers matter.

But they’re only half the story.

The part most founders ignore is the buyer’s current state.

Who are they right now?
What pressure are they under?
What gaps are they trying to close internally?
What would be slow, risky, or expensive for them to build on their own?

Acquisitions don’t happen in a vacuum.
They happen when a company solves a specific problem for a specific buyer at a very specific moment.
 
Two companies can show similar metrics.
One feels strategic and desirable.
The other feels optional and will get discounted.

If you’re chasing big customers early, you’re slowing yourself down.

Your first users are not there to build revenue.
They are there to prove your thesis.

Founders confuse paying customers with validation.
They’re not the same thing.

Early adoption is about speed, not contract size.
Usage beats logos.
Behavior beats ARR.

Go enterprise too early and you’ll drown in compliance before you touch value.
Security reviews. Procurement. Politics.
Months wasted. Zero proof.

Your first users should help you answer one question only:
Does this actually change behavior?

We manually onboarded our first 115 users.
Those users weren’t our future market.
They were how we proved the product worked.

That proof is what unlocked bigger deals later.

If you can’t name the specific proof your first users generate, you chose the wrong entry point.

Next time you’re doing it, try this:
“We’re looking for partners to prove a 20% reduction in sales cycles. Are you here for the data, or just the tool?”

If they don’t care about the outcome, walk away.
ATM, they’re not a path forward. They’re noise.
