After I delivered the training strategy, launch then optimised the workstream, I decided to focus solely on being the Rio EPR Communications Lead so I could finish ghost-writing a novel.

The Trust's homegrown legacy system Insight is being replaced by the Rio Inpatient and Community EPR system. 

- Wrote an integrated internal communications strategy for sign off at Programme Board. 
- Provide monthly updates  and analytics insights for Programme Board, NHS Digital and NHS England. .

Rio EPR Communications and Training Lead

FINALIST: Health Tech Awards 2022 for Staff Engagement and Communication at EEAST ePCR project

The Engagement and Training Lead accountable for re-engaging frontline staff and developing an agile dual training strategy and implementation for both hardware and software for the East of England Ambulance Trust (EEAST)

The Trust’s existing electronic patient care record (ePCR) system had been in place since 2009 and would not address the future needs of the service. In addition, laptops heavily used by staff needed a refresh. Whilst the ePCR software contract was ending, it was uneconomical to maintain the existing laptops. 

Engagement

- Developed multi-channel staff engagement strategy for Programme Board approval.
- Updated Programme Board presentations.
- Pioneered Live Q&A at the Trust.
- Utilised multiple engagement channels, including a series of digital bulletins 'Change is Good', virtual Q&A sessions, in-person events and social media groups.
- Wrote targeted communications for different end user groups and regions. 
- Created mixed media assets to support other communication channels. 

Training

- Implemented a blended training programme for staff during the COVID-19 pandemic through virtual and online training. Used gamification to develop advanced software training for clinicians.

Legacy 
BAU has seen the Trust reach their highest ePCR compliance rates. February 2023 saw an overall 91% compliance with each of the six regions now hitting 90% or above.

I was initially approached by the General Manager, Bernadette Gilligan and offered the opportunity to take over the lease of the spa area in the iconic Hilton Hotel Manchester.
My task was to create a professional spa with a profitable offering, conducive to the Hilton brands high standards.
To achieve this, I first negotiated the lease with Hilton Hotels. I then had to create and implement the Spa 303 brand: this had a Parisian theme, which ran through the whole décor and treatment offers.
The brands I chose to complement the Parisian theme were Yonka Skincare, Theme, Orly. We also sold our own blends of products created in collaboration with Beverly Higham.
Setting up the business. This required Interviewing and commissioning; the website designer, social media & PR consultants, HR & H&S consultants, IT providers for the computerised system, furniture suppliers, product suppliers and trainers.
I then recruited my team of 10 therapists & two receptionists plus additional specialist treatment practioners
I designed and conducted the induction and sales training for my team and managed the day-to-day running of the spa, including all the marketing, team development, reviews etc.

Urban Retreat Harrods Knightsbridge London
I worked alongside Tracey Woodward to establish Urban Retreat 5th Floor Harrods as the ultimate beauty destination in London. This was achieved by working with department managers for Hair, Beauty, Nails, Retail, MediSpa, and Roja Dove Perfumery.
A key coup for Urban Retreat was to gain floor space on the ground floor at Harrods door 5. I project managed the delivery of Glamour to Go concept; express beauty treatments to go Nails, Brows, and hairpieces. Delivering the project within the strict Harrods guidelines.

Urban Retreat Beautiful Boots – Kingston Upon Thames
This was an exciting new initiative, establishing the first professional salon inside a Boots store. 
I was responsible for managing the relationship with the store, which was key to the implementation of such a new venture. 
I project managed the delivery of this new and exciting concept. Tasks included: liaising with the shopfitters, architects and store management, to deliver the unit ready for trading, on time and within an agreed budget.
I liaised with product houses such as L’Oreal, Redken Tigi, Paul Mitchell, Thalgo, Murad, Guinot, etc. securing brands agreement to trade with URB within Boots.
I worked with the marketing department to create the offering and the delivery of the brand.
I was responsible for the recruitment and training of all team members.
After the initial launch, I embedded the strategies and procedures enabling the Salon Manager to trade successfully, deliver sales targets, payroll and profit.

Implemented UR Wellness at Terminal 1 Heathrow, delivering quick wellness treatments to passengers. Amongst other things I liaised with the airport sales teams and devised a strategy to increase sales and footfall & promote the online shop Urban Retreat Beautique

Initially, in 2006 the concession had a turnover of £150k which grew to £1.5 million by 2010.
My first task was to strengthen the relationship with the store, and the team. I started by implementing sales and marketing strategy and educating the team on the delivery of excellent customer service. It took around 6 months for us to turn the corner and become the top-performing account on the beauty sales floor.

Initially, I was responsible for the Company-owned units: Aveda Institute Covent Garden, Marylebone High Street, Brighton, Kensington Church Street. Because of my performance with company-owned stores, I was asked to include Selfridges Oxford Street in my oversight.
I managed the concession relationship with Urban Retreat, Marylebone Café, My Café. Also, I worked closely with the education department, which was also situated within the building in the Covent Garden store.
I project managed from start to completion the Kensington Church Street unit the first lifestyle company-owned store providing hair and beauty services. Our first client walk-in was Elle Macpherson.
I increased the Selfridges Oxford Street turnover from £18k per week to £26k in very challenging times. I delivered all KPI’s and earned 100% of my Performance Related Bonus year on year. 
I completed all educational courses provided by such a prestigious company including; HR, Health & Safety, Sales, Product Knowledge. Travelled to Minneapolis to attend the Aveda Educational seminar to absorb and deliver into the company-owned stores in the UK.
I hosted a range of in-store events at all stores that raised awareness of the Aveda philosophy and offerings.
I created and participated in an educational program for the Aveda Field Sales Teams.

Lifestyle Manager Central London

Regis International Ltd

Initially starting as a salon Manager in Browns of Chester Debenhams department store, I delivered all KPI’s including profit and 35% payroll.
1996 Promoted to southern Regional Manager responsible for Hair Express Brand 38 salons in the south. During my whole career at Regis, I was coached and mentored directly by Jackie Lang, CEO of Regis.
Launched an intensive salon managers education programme called Mind Your Own Business which we co-wrote as a Regional Team.
I consistently grew sales turnover and delivered profit year on year and I assisted in the development of a customer service video with Redken.
In 1999 I was promoted to Brand Manager for new business. I was involved in the acquisition of Supercuts and responsible for the integration of the brand into Regis via a team of 2 Regional Managers and 14 Area Supervisors. I managed the expansion programme from 67 salons to 107 which delivered a £17 million turnover.
I attended numerous training and development programmes, both internally and via the product houses we worked with, such as L’Oreal, Redken, Paul Mitchell, Wella.
The role included international travel and training. Including the Redken Symposium in Vegas and met with Michael Cole to devise the delivery ‘Stop Getting by Start getting Rich’ programme. This was rolled out to our salon managers in the UK.
During my time at Regis, I opened in total 40 salons, with 70% breaking even in the first 12 weeks of trade, in addition, I was responsible for numerous salon refurbishments and some closures.
