Now a bit about me: 

I'm a proud Mancunian, living on one of my favourite islands... Ibiza! 🇬🇧 ✈️ 🇪🇸 

For the last 25 years, I’ve mostly worked in sales, from door to door, to telesales and then into management where I’ve been proud to turn underperforming teams into top performing teams. I've worked in telecoms, marketing, financial services and more recently tech (SaaS). 

Over the years, I’ve also done stints in customer service where I’ve gone around the business looking at how different back-office functions can perform better, through a mixture of recruitment, staff training, new business processes or even new technology. I've created new roles and new teams that have gone on to make huge differences within the businesses. 

As you can see, from creating winning sales teams to fixing broken processes, my journey's been as varied as a British summer - which is why I packed my bags & jetted off! 💼 ✈️ ☀️ 

When I’m not working, you can find me in the following places... 

🏖 On the beach. 
💃 On the dance floor.
📚 With my head in a good book. 
🐶 Mooching around Ibiza with my dog.

Dear The 45th President Donald Trump Appointee and Alumni Group who managed to avoid the Vietnam war while his peers were in uniform fighting 

This is me NOT in Helmand province, Afghanistan, on the front line with a very special American soldier sharing a no alcohol beer after a mission 

You are so wise, and us Brits can only wish to be as wise and courageous as you. (Draft dodger)

I think the 457 soldiers who are no longer here, the thousands of injured soldiers and those who made it back but are no longer on this mortal coil would probably disagree with your interpretation of a 'Front line"

Day 2 at BAE Systems

A driver had a heart attack while I was on site today 

Not a real one but a simulation of what could happen. Actually 2 weeks ago a driver did complain of chest pains? 

This was reported through the system and actions were taken by site, managers, non first aiders and first aiders 

Lessons were learned and improvements will be implemented following a report 

Do you trust your system? or do you tick a box with first aid because they "have an in date certificate"

Biffa Walsall being proactive and not reactive to first aid training and actions

My week in photos 

Saturday went from looking homeless to timeless 

Sunday was a commute for the first time down to Birmingham with Biffa  and Chris Price 

Stayed at  Holiday Inn and it had FRIED bread.  Not had that for years so had a slice

Did some First aid realistic testing on a site.   Everyone going about there normal day and then an incident happens.  What happens next is recorded, timed and observed. Followed up by a hot debrief and a detailed report. 

Walks in the freezing cold with Ami Floyd but I had my Mechanix Wear winter gloves on to keep my hands warm

Crazy moons this week as well

Made some carrot and ginger juice for first thing in the morning before our walks

The injured person had a laceration to the forearm with arterial bleeding (a real scenario for this workstation)

This tests the site process from -

Communication 
First aid kit locations 
First aiders equipment 
First aider performance 
Management of communication by leadership 
After action Review 


From this a report about the good, bad and ugly parts of the scenario will be produced
