I am a passionate and focused leader who loves to build and has the ability to bring order and clarity to situations where there is ambiguity or chaos. I am a creative problem solver, and a bit of a geek. 

I believe:
- Being a leader means leading the “whole” person - mentoring young talent is something I get much satisfaction from
- The Pareto Principle (the 80/20 rule) - Progress is better than perfection...every time
- Occam’s Razor - the simplest solution to a problem is usually the best
- Consensus is important - but that doesn’t mean 100% agreement, it means we can all support a decision 100%

I get sh*t done by:
- Getting support and alignment across diverse stakeholders trying to achieve Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAG) through consensus building
- Balancing the healthy tension between strategic initiatives and tactical priorities
- Keep my eyes on the future rather than looking back
- Cutting through the noise and focusing on outcomes

Coming out of college with an engineering degree, then into management consulting and eventually into marketing / operations has exposed me to many types of companies and industries.

Our AEs have a Claude prompt that scans the prospects websites and generates SQL to populate an instance with dummy data, then a follow on prompt which generates sample audiences, emails, journeys, etc.

We used to just do this for very bottom of the funnel deals.

It's so easy to use AI for this that we're now doing it for everyone. We now do a mini demo in a discovery call using their data. No sample org, no irrelevant audience data. It looks like it could be their real instance.

Disco -> demo conversion rates are up

Prospects more likely to want to bring in others into the deal

Next step is to explore this for outbound: "We setup your marketing automation instance using AI. Log in to check it out"... something like that.

I don't believe this is the future of B2B websites. 3 popups and I have ZERO idea of what this company does or why it's different.

I'm not knocking on this company or the marketing team specifically. This is the norm for B2B websites, including ours. 99% of SaaS websites look like this.

I'm on a personal mission to change the way B2B websites are done. 

Starting with our own website Inflection.io

We're on phase 1 of 3 to replacing our entire website with AI.

Phase 1 is build an AI chatbot to answer prospects questions. This is an opt-in experience for people and it's now live

I started this before I learned of Docket.io but if I were to start over I would start there. Go talk to Lauren McHugh.

Phase 2 is to train the chatbot based on the questions asked, then make it a full screen. Chatbot is now the default mode, but you can still opt out and browse our site as normal.

Phase 3 is to train the chatbot based on the questions asked, then remove the option to opt out of chat experience. Chat now IS our website.

- Answers prospects questions without them hunting
- Way less time needed to support (Not uncommon to have lots of meetings disussing specific words for the homepage!)
- Actually see what questions prospects have

Seems like a win win

We are looking for the next great AE at Inflection.io!

This role is a new role (not a backfill) and is being created because of market pull.

In other words, we have the pipeline for the role (unlike some companies who wishfully open AE roles thinking more AEs somehow magically = more revenue).

Congrats to Marketo for making it 20 years. (tomorrow is official birthday)

Even though I am a founder of a competitor to Marketo, I still respect the durability of the product. It's rare air for a SaaS product to be around 20 years later.

Funny how 20 years a later we marketers are all still working on the same things:

- How do I feed more high-quality leads into the sales pipeline, and

- How do I measure marketing effectiveness and justify the marketing spend?

I have crippling presentation anxiety

I have thrown up before presentations

In other cases it's almost the only thing I can do that day until it happens. I'm ineffective until the presentation is over. 

It's secretly one of the reasons Demand & Expand is more a community conference than a user conference. 

If it was user conference, I'd be giving a session. Probably the keynote.

Instead it's a community conference and vendors aren't allowed to give sessions (even if they are sponsoring).

We pour our heart and soul into the event, a lot of money too, and Inflection doesn't even have a session.

Yet we make it work. Constraints lead to creativity :)

We've all had a email oops before. A Moops if you will.

Inflection is now using AI to catch issues before you do.

And it's so much more than typos.

Our goal with this is to ease burden on marketing operations.

With our customers now using AI to draft campaigns, it's been helpful to have AI catch issues for the campaign owner to fix, because it event makes it to the campaign operations team.

You could have an inbound lead come into Inflection

then go to something like Clay for firmographic enrichment

then go to LinkedIn for their title and recent posts

then go to their website to see if they have Soc2 or not already
