Michael Bass, M.D.

With over 25 years of experience in executive nonprofit management, I have dedicated my career to being a passionate advocate, educator, and researcher for patients with chronic illnesses. My mission is to bridge the gap between patient experience and clinical care, ensuring that patient voices are heard, respected, and integrated into research and treatment.

My leadership journey includes serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Rome Foundation, an international nonprofit focused on expanding knowledge and improving care for individuals with Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI) in addition to executive leadership roles in a number of national health organizations. I am also the proud co-founder of Tuesday Night IBS, a vital patient and physician support community. 

My work is grounded in a strong academic foundation, including a Doctorate in Health Science (DHSc) with a focus on Rural and Public Health, M.Ed. and B.S. degrees.
