2 Muslims & a Jewish Rabbi collaborated on a new Fish & Chippy in Leeds.

When Marlows opened, Rabbi Gilbert asked the owners, Jenade Yamin and Arabaab "Paddy" Munir if they'd consider making it kosher and halal. 

They didn't have to. It meant change and cost. Paddy thought about it and said yes.

It took work to install new equipment and certifications. But they made it happen.

Now there are halal and kosher fryers side by side and one long queue for fish and chips. 

There are 3 Orthodox synagogues within half a mile, so the location is perfect for the 8,000 Jews in the area.

"To have delicious kosher fish and chips in Leeds, no longer having to schlep over to Manchester to get it, has been tremendous," says Rabbi Gilbert

Orthodox Jews, Muslim families and neighbours from every background now come together to order the same national dish.

Most headline news is about division, death and destruction.

Last week I BOMBED on stage in Florida.

A couple of ploys I used & things to do better next time - hold me to them.

1) Make a good joke early on. 
Good starts settle you in. Make sure it lands. 

2) Dont do all the hard work. 
Fortunately for me, I had a stunning setting to divert attention to. 

3) Slow the F down. 
I speak very fast. Some of my instructions and jokes didnt hit where I didn't give them time to land. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. 

4) Over prepare. 
We did so many practice runs and honed in what we wanted to say. Kicking off a conference is largely about the start and the very end. Get them right. I felt pretty comfortable the entire time, because I knew my material. 

5) Have props in the audience. 
Multiple times, I had people I can draw out a reference from during my delivery. Calling on someone who did something funny during the day. Getting a team member to put their hands up. Poking fun at a member of our team or a popular figure in the audience. Breaks up what you're saying. 

6) Stand up straight. 
I have horrifffficc posture. Im 6'4. Need to work on that.
