📌I was born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 
When I turned 20, I  landed a job in The Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq. 

📌I spent 4 years there working to put myself into school and move to the USA. 
The contract called for 84 hours/week. It was a blast - literally! 

📌While in Baghdad, I worked at the New Embassy Compound (NEC), the largest US Embassy in the world.

📌I moved to the States in 2011 and first lived in Honolulu. I moved to Norfolk, VA, in 2019 and shortly after I resided in the beautiful MD - DMV area. I am currently located in Orlando, FL. 

📌I was brave enough to start my own business in the summer of 2022, and I honestly can say I live the "American Dream."

I provided direction to 8 telecommuters and 10 offshore employees, led weekly meetings with 40 employees and collaborated with UHC Legal team to secure compliance through policy research.

  - Developed. established and curated a triage process resulting in the identification of 128 new fraudulent schemes.
  - Investigated Medicaid Mills in Brooklyn, Florida and other key targeted areas in the country. 
  - Identified and targeted fraudulent Medicare activity in Florida, New York where doctors where performing upcoding, unbundling  and double billing schemes such as DME abuse uncovering $26 million is savings in a single year.

I managed all substantial hospital systems and individual providers in the tri-metro area, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.  My primary responsibilites were negotiating and overseeing proposed contracts and managing a staff of provider representatives.

  - Contracted Key Provder physician groups in the New York and New Jersey areas, acquiring more than 1,000 new phsyicians for the network.
  - Led a group of individuals to reorganize the department's overall effectiveness and productivity, resulting in a centralized data collection to compile reports in a timelier manner.

Analyzed and linked fee schedules, linking them to appropriate Multiplan fee schedules to ensure proper client claim payments.  I also contracted in the greater New York aread IPA's and PHO providers associatd with the major hospital networks.
  -- Mediated 27 plus hospital and large group contracts within a single year, resulting in substantial rate improvements, inflation protection and obtaining greater outpatient rates.

My advice to current students or recent grads is the following: 

Go boldly through your their career, "Don't let your defeats cripple you. Let them make you stronger." I encourage students to push through shortcomings by learning from them. "Go with your gut!" They are life lessons whether good are bad are tools to learn from and are invaluable. They will help guide your career choices.
