A guy built a $260 million company selling air filters. Not software. Not AI. Air filters. 🤯  And he just wrote the clearest thing I've read all year about what AI actually means for those who aren't in tech.

David Heacock, CEO of Filterbuy, said this in Fortune:

"The internet gave us access to information. AI is giving us access to operational leverage."

Read that again.

For most of history, leverage belonged to the people who could hire big teams, raise capital, or build software.

Everyone else? Traded time for money.

That equation is broken now. 🔥

This is why I build what I build.

Not flashy apps. Not hype decks. Apps that make businesses RUN smarter, leaner, without the friction quietly capping their growth every single day.

A roofer spending half their day on scheduling and chasing missed calls?

That's not a roofer problem. That's a leverage problem.

Give that person better tools and fewer obstacles... and the math changes entirely. 🚀

Heacock nailed the reframe:

The losing mindset → use AI to cut costs.
The winning mindset → use AI to create opportunity.

Not "how do we get to 80 employees instead of 100?"

But "how do we let those 100 people operate at a level that was impossible before?"

Blue collar. Trades. Physical businesses. Real goods.

This is where AI gets really interesting to me...

Because the companies that win won't be the loudest about it.

They'll just quietly run better than everyone else. 😏

13 years ago, my team built a gamified touch screen app to promote STEM learning for one of the coolest brands in the world... Made in America. By hand. 


Mack Trucks. 🔥
Yeah... that Mack Trucks. 

The app lived exclusively inside the DaVinci Science Center in Allentown, Pa, Mack's hometown. 

Kids would walk up to a massive screen mounted on the side of an even more massive, Mack Truck!

Touch the screen, and learn about engineering, physics, and problem-solving through play.

At the time it was the coolest thing any of us ever built!

But it always bugged me that it lived in one place.
One museum.
One city.
One screen.

I wanted more kids to experience it.

So now, 13 years later, I'm doing something a little wild... 🤯

I'm using AI and vibe coding to rebuild the entire thing from ancient files.
A modern version. More accessible. More engaging. 

At first I didn't even know if this was possible... now I'm aiming to make it better than the original. Ambitious, I know.

The experiment is underway and it's been equal parts fun and humbling. 
Some days the code flows.
Some days I'm staring at a screen wondering what I was thinking 😅

But I have a feeling this one's gonna work. 🤞🏻

Here's the part that makes it worth the effort...
My four-and-a-half-year-old saw some of the original artwork.
His eyes lit up.
He's dying to play it 🚀 (even though I don't let him play video games yet)

That reaction right there? That's the whole point!

Building STEM tools that make kids lean in... not zone out.

I’m 8 years in and contrary to popular posts,  it wasn’t easy to make this sustainable.

Invoicing by talking to my phone. 🤯

I used to dread invoices.
Like… actively avoid them.

The kind of task that sits on your to-do list for days while money just waits to be collected. 💸

Then I though…
there has to be a better way.

Turns out there was. And it was embarrassingly simple.

I created a new project in Claude, uploaded a sample of my invoice, and wrote some basic system instructions.

That’s it.

Now I just talk to my phone:
“Invoice this client for this amount.”

If any info is missing, it asks. If something should stay blank, it confirms.

Then it generates a PDF that goes straight to my email. ✅

The whole thing takes less than a minute and a few clicks.

No templates to dig through. No spreadsheet gymnastics. No dreading.
Just… done.

This isn’t some complex AI workflow.

No API. No code. No technical skills required.

It’s a project, a sample file, and a few sentences of instructions. 🔥

That’s the part people miss about what’s possible right now. The biggest wins aren’t the flashy stuff. 

They’re the tiny, annoying tasks you’ve been putting off for years… automated in 10 minutes.

He said no to mass surveillance of Americans. He said no to fully autonomous weapons using his technology. The Pentagon called him "a liar with a God-complex, putting our nation's safety at risk."

This is not a movie. This is happening right now. 🤯

Dario Amodei CEO of Anthropic, the company behind Claude, Claude Code & Co-work,  had two red lines in his Pentagon contract.

Two. And he wouldn't budge. 🙏🏽

So the government blacklisted his company. Banned every federal agency from using their technology.

Designated them a "supply chain risk to national security."

An American AI company...
labeled a threat to America...
for drawing an ethical line no one else would. 🔥

Every major AI company that once said "no" has reversed course.
Every.
Single.
One.

Except Anthropic.

This man walked away from $200M, with the President publicly threatening him & competitors circling like sharks. 

And he didn't flinch.

His words: "No amount of intimidation or punishment will change our position... Disagreeing with the government is the most American thing in the world."

Here's why this matters to ALL of us... not just people in tech.

We are living through the birth of the most powerful technology humans have ever created. No joke 😅

And right now is when the ethical foundation gets poured. 
Not later. Not when it's convenient. Now.

This isn't about left or right.
This isn't about being anti-military or anti-government.

This is about wanting the people who build these tools to have the backbone to say "there are some things we just won't do." 
And meaning it.

That should unite every single one of us.

Because if the builders won't draw lines... regulators won't draw them fast enough. History tells us that every single time.

10 startups deep, I've learned that the hardest decisions aren't choosing between good and bad. They're choosing between profitable and principled when you can't have both.

Call me a softy, but a hip hop documentary just made me cry.
Like for real. 😭
“I Got a Story to Tell” about Biggie Smalls, hit home in ways I wasn't ready for.

I watched it expecting nostalgia. What I got was wrecked. Christopher Wallace was 24 when he died.

Twenty. 
Four.

My older son is 22 right now.
That rewires everything about how you watch a story like this.

I was 13, living in the NJ suburbs when "Party and 🐮💩" hit the radio. The east coast was back on the map after falling into the shadow of Dre, Snoop and Pac for years.

That raw, hungry confidence... that voice.
Like the culture tilted a few degrees and never tilted back 🔥

It wasn’t just Biggies Death that got me.
It was also Tupacs.
and more...

Two legends who loved and respected eachother.
The two best to ever play the hip hop game IMHO.

What pushed me over the edge was hearing Puffy Pdiddy P Garbage Combs talking as if he were a friend and an alley. 🤬

When really, he betrayed both these artists, set against one another and from what it seems was instrumental in both of their deaths. What, you didn't know?!?

Where did I come up with these wild acusations?

If you haven’t seen it, check out “The Reckoning” about Sean Combs, another hip-hop docu series on Netflix, produced by another indusrty mogul, 50Cent.

Anger. Confusion. Then that aha moment where it all clicks. The unsolved mystery’s of these two untimely deaths.

The murders of Tupac and Biggie remain “officially unsolved.”
But if you watch that doc and can’t come to your own conclusion about who was behind it all you didn’t watch the same thing I did.

But stepping back from all of it... one thing is undeniable:
Two generational voices were gone long before they hit their stirde.
They weren't legends in their twilight years.
They were kids with nuclear talent.

What would Biggie have sounded like at 40?
What kind of elder statesman would Pac have become?
We'll never know. 😢

But we got music that moved culture. Lyrics that captured a moment in American history. Proof that genius can come from the east, west, north or south, and at any age.

Talent is fragile. Narratives are powerful.
And the environment + people around us matter more than we think.

Rest in peace Biggie.
Rest in peace Pac.
