First, more on my background:

I’ve been a leadership coach since 2020, mainly working with leaders to help them understand themselves, build courage, overcome obstacles, and push themselves to reach their highest potential, without burning out.

I’ve also been a Chartered Accountant for over 15 years, leading finance teams in wide range of industries and organisations in Australia and the UK.

I also started writing online in 2020, and you know what? 

I learned I LOVE writing! 

Who would have thought, an accountant loves writing! I’ve mainly written about mindset, meaning and purpose, self-mastery and wellbeing in work.

And my latest frontier?

Becoming a dad! I’m the proud father of two beautiful boys.

But I was a bit all over the place, too many platforms and publishing commitments, trying to do too many things, and burning myself out.

It was time to:

DO LESS, BUT DIVE DEEPER.

Prioritized the backlog and guided the team, customers and stakeholders in the incremental analysis and development to deliver a large-scale cloud-based Property Management System.

Coached the organization to adopt Agile, Lean and UX values. Implemented Scrum with 2 two cross-functional and feature-driven teams composed of 13 ninjas (engineers and designers).

Hired and lead the UX team in the continuous analysis and design of the customer-experience, making use of prototyping, usability testing, interviews, surveys, A/B testing, among others.

Since December, at Booking.com & based in Amsterdam, he guided a team of 6 in the creation of APIs to allow partners to access internal data and provide new services to Hotels.

As a Line Manager, he lead an R&D area with up-to 20 engineers focusing on user-centered design. The area was organized in 4 centers-of-competence: UI Development & Engineering, SW & UI Testing, Customer Documentation, and Usability Experience & Interaction Design.

He took a leading role in the definition and usage of the company UI Look & Feel, in all product lines, for both desktop and web applications – in complex telco software and environments. 

In addition, as a Certified Scrum Master, he pushed the organization to adopt well-known Agile values. In a daily basis, he applied and researched Usability Engineering techniques, while managing and guiding a large team seeking innovation, peer recognition, and high-quality work.
