Creating brand visibility
Brand can be an elusive concept. As a tech marketer, I’ve helped start-ups create identity and awareness with messaging and positioning strategies, awards programs, analyst accolades, and media relations successes.  Key to this effort was identifying and nurturing talent from all parts of the organization to build a deep bench of brand ambassadors. Highlights:

Awards: Gartner Cool Vendor, Gartner Magic Quadrant leader, Forbes America’s Most Promising Companies, Deloitte Fast 50, Inc. 500, and AlwaysOn Top 100 Private Companies.  

Revenue-driven sales and marketing
Unlike many marketers, I’ve actually sold product. My marketing programs focus on sales conversion. At WhiteHat, I developed the idea for a statistics report that became a premier lead gen tool, as did our Garter MQ leader status. At SecurityFocus, I booked $1.3 million in revenue in my first year.  At Infoseek, I managed partnerships with a budget of $30 million that accounted for 21% of revenue.  At CMP Media, I managed a $2.9 million territory that met or exceeded quota.  

Building trusted relationships 
Whether the media is analog, digital or something yet to be invented, it’s all about relationships. I’ve managed media, analyst, and investor relations at companies of all sizes (CNN, WhiteHat Security, and Porter Novelli).  I’ve launched partner programs, customer advisory boards and spearheaded employee communications.  I’ve always chosen to work with companies whose products and management I respect.  That makes it easier to achieve your goals.
