Good news!

I got my first new year offer on Upwork.

I was strolling on the street of Upwork after the holidays.

I found this job so fascinating but decided not to apply.

The reason behind my decision was:

I was the latest "Doubting Thomas" at this time.

I quoted a CEO $1200 some months to build an outreach system.

But, I got rejected. It was so bad & was humiliated.

Here is what happened 👇

He reached out to me for my lead generation services.

He is a big buy in his industry and couldn't just mess up.

I settled at a $1000 budget initially. Then decided to raise it to $1200. 

I didn't want to look cheap😢.

We set a meeting for a quick presentation and I did well.

Fast forward, to sending my quotation.

I waited and finally got a response.

He respectfully declined the offer and I asked WHYYYY?.

He said "He'd love to work with a more PROFESSIONAL person"

I was dumbfounded but found this out.

He had a budget of $2500. Someone else pitched him and got it the gig.

Now, this is his opinion of me:

✅ My proposed budget seems to him I don't know my job.

✅ I didn't understand lower offer means lover value to him.

✅ I didn't value myself, so he didn't too.

It's funny how we got rejected different times with different perspectives.

This would have been one of my biggest wins on LinkedIn that year.

But then,

You win some, You lose some.

✅ Learn to know your worth, you won't be afraid to charge.

✅ Make enough research on prospects before you sending your price quotation.
