For years, we optimized for:
◾ More features.
◾ More dashboards.
◾ More filters.
◾ More reports.
◾ More integrations.
◾ More manual configuration.

CRMs, Sales engagement tools, Marketing automation, Analytics platforms.
All built around one assumption: 

The human is the operator. The software is passive.

Recently, Google introduced an experimental “AI-powered configuration” inside Search Console’s Performance report, letting you describe the analysis you want in natural language, then translating it into filters, comparisons, and metrics.

This isn’t just a feature.
It’s a signal.

Software is no longer just a tool.
It’s becoming an active participant.

Users don’t want to:
◾ Navigate menus.
◾ Set up filters.
◾ Build reports.
◾ Stitch together data.

They want to say:
“Tell me what’s happening.”

And get: 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

But here’s the real shift, the value isn’t “adding a chat.”
The value is 𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁, grounded, permissioned, real-time data pulled across tools and systems of record and turning that into 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The SaaS companies that win won’t be the ones shipping the most features.

They’ll be the ones that orchestrate data, tools, and agents, and compress the distance between insight and execution.

The question isn’t whether SaaS survives.
It’s who controls the execution layer.
