In this role I focused on development of the captive services in the (Open Access) publication processes that Thieme India provides for the Thieme Science portfolio. In this capacity I also headed the Finance and HR team. I was responsible for P/L leadership for India and for promoting and supporting the expansion of the product portfolio.

I was also a Board of Director of India subsidiary and was responsible for compliance and decison making for India business.

• Established & Managed Global Finance Shared Service & supported setting up of HR Shared Services (Savings realised USD 3m). Defined target operating model (TOM), Scoped work through discovery workshops, finalised service agreement (SAG), Statement of work (SOW) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Defining relevant to business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensuring delivery, managed budgets (P&L) & time frame, engaged in Change Management, Organisation redesign and Governance. 

• Managed Account Payable (AP), Account Receivable (AR), Inter Company (IC), Payroll and General Ledger (GL) teams besides supporting tax, audit & statutory compliance, reporting and preparation of financial statements. Optimised processes using lean six sigma and standardization.

• Shortlisted as the best shared service team at SSON Asia Impact Award 2019. Key highlights: Per invoice rate USD 3, Robotics implemented in 4 major areas (Customer Creation, Vendor invoice processing, Bank Recon and Journals), created a unique technofinance automation team & process excellence team (Six Sigma), year on year 7% productivity gain resulting in reduced billing. 

• Key member of Robotic Process Automation COE & Intelligent automation change review board.

• Accountable for knowledge transfer of finance processes from 16 countries (US, UK, Nordics, Germany, Central Europe, Middle East, Singapore, and Malaysia). Successfully changed strategies of knowledge transfer due to COVID.

• Worked closely with global procurement team in redesigning procurement process and integration with finance.

I had dual role: Program Transformation Manager and Operation leader for Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS)

• Formulated and delivered target operating model of finance shared service (~180FTE - Savings realised USD 2.4m). Coordinating with the various stakeholders (CXO/FD) from multiple businesses and support functions (HR / Facility / Quality) to ensure timely delivery of the projects. Support forming of Quality & HR shared service, aligning operations matrix, policies, and procedures.

• Managed Account Payable (AP), Account receivable (AR), Intercompany (IC), & General Ledger (GL) processes besides supporting tax, audit & statutory compliance, preparation of financial statements.

• Successfully spearheaded the transition of processes from 6 different Geographies UK / US / India / Malaysia / Singapore / Australia). 

• Led, as the member of global core team, implementation of SAP across group as a part of one ERP Transformation Project. Implemented “Concur” expense management system. Redesigned AP, IC, and Employee claim processes.

In this role as AVP, directed operations management and relationship for Insurance clients in the US helping them with Managing SLA’s, exceeding key performance indicators, reducing operating costs, Enabling end customer satisfaction by ensuring best quality results through six sigma rigor and shorter turnaround times as well as responsible for contractual compliance.

In this role was also responsible for P&L management (USD 35 million TCV), people management, appraisals of direct reports and mentoring and developing career paths in partnership with HR. In this role I managed ~300 FTE and was reporting to (VP- Operations).

HIGHLIGHTS

•Edifice and managed service delivery of P&C Insurance outsourcing centre (300 head count) for Lloyds of London. Procurement & Account payable process for (Finance & Accounts) for Boots Pharmaceutical. Structured outsourcing centre and managed service delivery of Investment Banking and Retail account administration outsourcing centre (500 head count) for seven German banks (Deutsche, CITI and others). 200 plus team members were German speakers.

•Executed transformation of paper-based processing to electronic mode using PEGA workflow system. This resulted in reduction in turnaround time for insurance premium processing from 10 days to 3 days.

•Outlined and executed cost arbitrage strategy by splitting the team in tier 1 (Gurgaon) & 3 town (Solan), Himachal Pradesh. This resulted in cost savings of $2.1 Mn USD (100 Head count).

•Collaborated with software development team and customer to develop in-house reconciliation tool resulting in saving of $1 million per year on license cost.

• Administered development of capacity management monitoring tool. This improved resource utilisation across globe (86% Vs 70%)

• Pitched to prospective customers (pre-sale) and contributed to account renewals

With over 22 years of experience in outsourcing and shared services, I specialize in establishing, managing, and transforming shared services operations. My expertise includes crafting and implementing Target Operating Models (TOMs), building shared service centers from scratch, and seamlessly transferring work across global regions.

I have successfully led global teams and managed stakeholders across diverse geographies, including the US, APAC, Middle East, and Europe. My experience extends to creating thriving shared services ecosystems through initiatives like automation centers of excellence (COEs), process excellence frameworks, and the design and deployment of advanced applications (ERP systems, workflows, Robotic Process Automation etc.).
