I started as the Director of Finance & Supply Chain. I could have stayed in this position and oversaw financial reporting and supply chain compliance activities. And that would have been fine...

But, that’s not me. 

Most of my colleagues described me as a “dog with a bone.” 

If there was a problem to solve, I was hungry to solve it. 

Because of my voracity to solve deep problems of inefficiencies and help the finance and supply chain function not be seen as just another back-office necessity, I was eventually promoted to CFO and oversaw the financial strategy of a group of 7+ entities with total combined revenues of greater than $100M. 

I did this while still overseeing the supply chain strategy and development of our business, helping acquire and oversee 2 entities, starting a new ecommerce venture, and selling our parent company and forming an ESOP. 

I achieved my mission of changing the perception of a CFO from “number-cruncher” to strategic business partner.

So much can go wrong on a webinar — and so much can go right! When a webinar concludes without a hitch, it's a trendous success for all!

As a moderator, I've learned to wear multiple hats at once: 🎩🧢👒🪖

💃🏻 Your vibe = the vibe of the webinar. SMILE, BE WARM!

🙌 Make the audience feel welcome - you've got to be funny. Pick up on the comments panelists make and respond to keep the convo natural.
 
❓Field the questions from the audience at the right moments and direct them to the right panelists - underrated how hard this is when the topic is complex!!

😀 Keep participants happy - make sure you've included them when they should be pulled into the topic/question and re-ask questions to include other panelists, too.

🌊 Go with the flow. Tech challenges (no video, no slides, poor visibility, dropping panelists, etc.!), coughs/colds, language barrier of participants, oh my!

🤷‍♀️ Translate. Audience questions and co-panelists' comments can be hard to understand. It's your job to bridge the gap.
