After successfully establishing, launching, and scaling the 'Customer Success' function across Asia, I was given the opportunity to further build and enhance this function, driving greater ROI for our customers in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, as well as Global Accounts. 

The Customer Success function across markets works in close partnership with sales to strengthen and deepen our relationships with users of our platform. By aligning our efforts, we aim to better understand and address the unique needs of each customer, drive higher engagement, and ensure long-term success. This collaborative approach not only enhances customer satisfaction but also plays a key role in increasing retention, optimizing product usage, and ultimately driving growth and ROI for both our clients and the business.

In this new promoted role, my biggest ask was to re-imagine how we serve our customers across Asia to draft a vision for an ideal state. Retention, customer ROI and satisfaction were key ingredients that needed significant attention. Within 6 months, we were able to set a vision, imagine an ideal state, analyze current state and execute to reach the ideal state within a year. As a result, SEEK Asia for the first time instituted "Customer Success" function in its operations in Asia. We have successfully setup this new function across all Asia markets in 2024 as we now look to impact our key business outcomes moving forward aligned with our mission to help customers succeed.

My ops strategy role was focused on the hirer space or helping hirers succeed in Asia. I was brought in to manage the "freemium" part of the business which was fairly new. Key OKRs were to scale freemium model across Asia and improve free to paid monetization. 

Key achievements included helping SEEK Asia deliver a 9X growth in free to paid hirer monetization within 20 months and achieving historical high paid hirer acquisition run rates.

My role was centred around transformation while managing the PnL. Transformation overall from strategy to digitalisation to customer experience to service to technology and more importantly people. 

It was a very hands on role as I had to lead the change management starting with recruiting the right talent and developing talent internally for the traditional business. Heavily involved in growth management and strategies to boost revenue and diversify SSF portfolios. At the same time cost cutting and saving strategies to maximise profits. Spearheading the organisation's technology and digitalisation through upgrading legacy systems and introducing mobile app for enhanced customer experience and preparing SSF for omni-channel retail. Established a strong CS team and mechanisms to transform the way we serve our customers. Drastically improved processes through BPR and boosting the organisational efficiency and productivity.

The vision is to develop the most efficient hiring and educational tool that allows travel and work opportunities, mentorship and training etc. Instead of fund-raising our ambition has always been to build a profitable and sustainable business by listening to our customers and rapidly innovating to the market trends and needs. If I could sum up my journey in three words: perseverance, purpose, and passion.

I started 13+ years ago in Malaysia earning RM5/hour, and that experience taught me the value of hard work from the ground up. Since then, I’ve helped scale a local startup (as co-founder) across Southeast Asia, led digital and organisational transformation for a 900+ employee SME (driving RM77M YoY growth), and learned to move fast and stay agile at one of the region’s most disruptive brands, AirAsia.

Today, I work for a global market leader, gaining insights into how top-performing teams think and execute at scale. Across every chapter, I’ve grown as a resilient, mission-driven leader who values people, impact, and continuous learning. What fuels me daily is solving complex problems and turning uncertainty into opportunity.

Outside of work, I serve as a lay minister at church and am pursuing a part-time Master’s in Pastoral Studies.
