I spent the last week with my 2 year old niece who has a rare form of Leukemia.

Her zest for life is beyond inspirational.

She lives in every single moment. 

And she brightens everyone else who is around her.

There is so much negativity and angst in the world today. 

I feel it and I know many of you do too.

This little 2 year old girl reminds me what it means to be human. 

What it means to find the good in every breath, to love unconditionally, to be present even in the midst of great trials.

I love you Navy. Thank you for being you. You are such a gift.

This is my niece Navy. 

Amazing news - her chemo worked very well. Cancer is in remission and they have a plan to continue. She will still need a bone marrow transplant.

Still a long journey ahead but so thankful!! 🙏

Time to get real. 

Yes, mom is deep in the scrapbooks again. 

Probably a quart of pumpkin creamer into her daily coffee. 

Pretty sure I was volunteering for the nursery on Sunday so I didn’t have to go to big Church.

I was a Police Officer and Detective for the NYPD for 30 years.  As a Detective I worked in the Narcotics Division, Detective Squads and the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force where I held a Top Secret/SCI clearance for 17 years.  I worked on several International Terrorism Investigations as well as Domestic issues.  I also briefed investigations to persons in the highest levels of government,.

2nd Grade Detective

As a retired NYPD Detective of 30 years I have worked in such investigative units as Narcotics, Robbery Squad, Gang Investigations, and finally the last 17 years of my career assigned to the FBI/NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force.  

While assigned to JTTF, I was responsible for coordinating several terrorism cases, both domestically and internationally.  I was fortunate enough to have traveled to numerous countries to handle complex investigations and coordinate foreign security services to assist in those cases.  I held a TS/SCI clearance, and handled briefings to representatives of the highest levels of government.

I am the Co-Host of the podcast, GOLD SHIELDS. GOLD SHIELDS lets our audience experience real life , large scale investigations and missions by Detectives and Military Operators from around the world. We interview the Detectives and Vets who ran those cases and missions and hear the backstories to those cases. GOLD SHIELDS also interviews victims of crimes and hear their stories. We also interview individuals who have a tremendous support of Law Enforcement and the Military. We also touch on historical events involving a true crime background and interview experts in that fields.

I am also a guest speaker at the NYPD Criminal Investigation Course, and can also be seen for commentary interviews on NewsMax, The Nancy Grace Show, and CourtTV.
